Disadvantages: Only 87% roasted peanut (3% < USA standard minimum), slightly oily, peanut pieces a bit large

...and discovered they had changed the recipe. Previously containing: Roasted Peanuts, Vegetable Oil, Sugar and Salt, it was free from artificial additives and hydrogenated fats. Old "Allergy advice: * Contains nuts." The new recipe seems to be similar to that of the Asda SmartPrice, containing 87% peanuts, sunflower oil, dextrose, vegetable fat and salt, with a new "Allergy advice: * Recipe: contains peanuts. May contain traces of other nuts." The new, higher peanut content, lower salt, lower fat version might be healthier, and certainly tastes slightly richer, and slightly drier in the mouth. ...Review of Sainsbury's Basics Crunchy Peanut butter. SAINSBURY'S BASICS CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER. The Product I have to admit that I am addicted to peanut butter, it is something that I eat daily or I develop withdrawal symptoms. Peanut butter is one of those love it or loathe it foods and I am definitely in the love it category. As a vegetarian, I kid myself that the calorie intake of my large consumption of peanut butter is offset by the protein content....... Well, I did say I kid myself! I particularly enjoy my peanut butter on toast, when accompanied by a slice of cheese and an apple this makes a really delicious lunch. I also like to mix my peanut butter with jam, or jelly as they say in the USA, for breakfast toast. I read somewhere that this was the 'King's' (Elvis) favourite snack too! ...MY children love peanut butter and i too have it sometimes, i have always bought sunpat's peanut butter, thinking that this would be the best one been a good brand . I was shopping in tesco when i noticed that they did there own peanut butter in the tesco value range for 43p for a 340g jar. I normally get sunpat from asda for 98p for a 340g jar, so i thought it would be worth trying . ~ The jar ~ It is a glass jar 340g and its got a white plastic screw on lid. It has the tesco value logo on the front also crunchy peanut butter in big writing , which is wrote on a red background. Its suitable for vegeterians. Some things i have to say i don,t get own brands or i didn,t used to lol, as i always thought that the top brands were the best . ~ Would it look the same as other expensive brands ? ~ I have to say yes it...
