Advantages: A couple of superb songs and my all time favourite track Disadvantages: A filler album really
...This album comes from the middle period of the second phase of the Moody Blues history. The line up had consolidated following the loss of Mike Pinder and Patrick Moraz was established as the keyboard player. The last but one album (‘Long distance Voyager’) had been a huge success and the loyal fans continued to flock to the British and American tours.
‘The OtherSide’ presents a heavier sound than most previous albums. There is still the presence of the driving beat and the ‘wall of sound’ that became the group’s hallmark. However the tracks themselves are somewhat repetitive in nature and apart from one ballad there is a lack of the distinctive and plaintive lyrics this time from Justin Hayward. It is relatively short at 42 minutes playing time.
Released in May 1986, it reached a peak at No.9 in the US album charts and No.24...

Advantages: Soothing, Great Solos Disadvantages: This isnt the bands real side
...OK. Lets get this straight, Godsmack is an average band. Nothing great about them. Yes they have some good songs but nothing more than that. That said, this record is an exception. It really does show Godsmack's otherside.
This seven track record is an EXTREMELY good record. It shows Godsmack's otherside. That side being their acoustic side. Godsmack is a hard rock, electric guitar roaring band. This album on the other hand is unplugged and acoustic.
The record opens with the track RUNNING BLIND. Very soothing track. Has a very good acoustic guitar sound and also has a super acoustic guitar solo. Vocals are clean and very well done. Sully's voice on this record is really good.
Second track is Re-Align, and this ones my favorite. It has a groovy opening. It seems that there are two acoustic guitars working here. Again, very...

Advantages: Packed with catchy, yet dark and twisted riffs Disadvantages: Very different sound compared to Korn's previous albums
...'See You On The OtherSide' is Korn's first studio album released since the departure of guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch from the band. The sound is notably different from previous albums, yet none of the songs sound empty. The album is crammed with heavy, head banging tunes such as 'Twisted Transistor' and 'Liar', but it also contains a fair share of slower, eerie songs, my personal favourites being 'Throw Me Away' and 'Tearjerker'. Almost every song has it's own unique synthetic sounds, and it is obvious that Korn have experimented with their sound on this album. However, this is necessarily not a bad thing, as these sounds contribute to the creepy atmosphere this album creates.
Overall, 'See You On The OtherSide' is a fantastic album, which explores a variety of styles that should appeal to rock fans in general, not just Korn fans....
