"Thanks for listening to this music - it's yours" is the last line of the album booklet and to me, it says next to everything that needs to be said about this album.
There are 12 tracks, the sound is a mixture of rock and pop and the tracks range from being upbeat, and brilliant to sing along to, to more mellow and easy listening and then to crowd pleasing party tunes. Lyrically this music is great, it is easy to understand what is being sung and all very catchy.
The first three tracks (Girls who play guitars, our velocity and books from boxes) are a great start to the album, they really get you into the swing of things and are great party songs or so I keep being told.
I usually find that with an album I will have a few songs I particularly like and I skip straight to them each time, this Maximo Park album is not like that at all however.
You will put this album on and you won't be put out by it. Great tracks for different moods and even different occasions. It is a well constructed album that flows right through until the end - which might just be worth pointing out, you won't want to come - so you'll end up leaving the album on loop, no doubt about it.
Go buy this album, you genuinely won't regret it, or at least you shouldn't.
