...Good Vibrations: Thirty Years of The Beach Boys" is one of the finest compilations of a major musical artist yet released. Inside, you will find an exceptionally well-chosen selection of Beach Boy hits, album tracks, alternate takes, experiments and other assorted oddities. There are no essential songs or performances missing, although one might quibble about not finding a personal favourite among the extensive track listing. Even then, I'll wager that the compilers at Capitol have second-guessed even the most fervent Beach Boys fanatics. Here is the proof as to why in some circles Brian Wilson is considered a pop music genius on the order of a Paul McCartney or a Stevie Wonder. The sound is terrific, given that the original recordings have some unusual imbalances and are very trebly--no doubt due to Brian Wilson's rumoured deafness... Read review

...This is the debut album of the Brummie band King Adora. The band has the glam look of the early Manics era with overdoses of glitter and eyeliner and a tendancy to be camp and anti masculine.The band seem daring with their songs and even their name which comes from a type of vibrator!. The singer sounds like the singer from manson on speed as he sings his way through the fast passed album. The band have been around for nearly a year now and have released singles from this album last year and its seems weird now that they are re-releasing the sungles when the alnum comes out.The songs catchy affairs with the lyrics not being too complex are enjoyable and easy to remember to sing along with The songs cover a varied range of topics but one which stands out is the single "Big isnt Beautiful" which takes a look at male annorexia... Disadvantages: Gets a bit claustrophobic at times

...The Velvet Underground - even the name carries its own, very surreal connotations of decadence and luxurious, secret sin. Blackness of heart and blackness of sight and a very, very weird approach - a total lack of any regard for what was acceptable or nice or commercial - like a sleazy set of alternative comics revelling in the anarchy their material produced - the question was not ‘is it any good?’, or ‘is it interesting?’, but more ‘how far can we go?’ Hush hush, whisper who dares, Lou Reed and Cale are saying their prayers…. Think of this lot in your nursery, looking after your kids, teaching them the pleasures that lie out there, somewhere a million miles to the East.
