Advantages: Some Great Songs Disadvantages: A Couple Of Weaker Tracks
...Tracey Thorn is probably best known as one half of the duet, Everything but the Girl, but here on this album, "Out of the Woods", we see her leaving hubby, Ben Watt temporary aside and embarking on a solo project. This recording is her first solo Album for two and a half decades following on from "A Distant Shore" released back in 1982, which is probably before many people reading this review were actually born.
This Album was released in the UK on the 5th March 2007, following hot on the heels of the release of its first single "Its All True" a couple of weeks earlier.
There are eleven tracks on this Album as below:
Here it comes again
A-Z
It's all true
Get around to it
Hands up to the ceiling
Easy
Falling off a log
Nowhere near
Grand Canyon
By Piccadilly Circus I sat down and wept
Raise the roof
The Album opens...

Advantages: The third cycle of Weller's career Disadvantages: It's a far cry from The Jam and The Style Council...
...Being an avid fan of The Jam then naturally drifting into the cool romantic sounds of The Style Council, I was always apprehensive about Paul Weller out on his own. In my own mind, I had trouble dismissing the image of too short drain pipes and stripey shirts that once clothed the young and immaturely skinny Weller jumping uncontrollably to 'A Town Called Malice.' Forever prepared to shake off anything other than 'Shout To The Top' from his Style Council days, I really took the opportunity to readily cast aside the idea of listening to a more recent solo project such as 'Wild Wood.'
Born and bred a Surrey man from the dull and uninteresting town of Woking and after the dizzy heights of The Jam, he formed The Style Council as far back as 1983. The elapse of time between each project was fast, The super stylish Council was mastered...

Advantages: Has some good songs in it and has large and lavish sets. Disadvantages: An odd movie, hard to get a grasp on and by many accounts too imaganitive.
...on this production is the time it was made, the 1950s and it is nothing to do with camera qaulity or the qaulity of the sets, it is the almost racist portrayel of the black lift operator in D.r T's palace. Who has a bare chest yet his head is coverd by a bucket only allowing his eyes to be visiable. The manner of this mans attire is designed to be scary yet there is an underlying bias in his costume that is intended to be racist. [Especially as this is the only black person I saw in the whole movie.] I would not reccomend anyone showing this to a child who is under the age of 10 as any younger and youn may be looking at a scared child! A good yet out of date production, obviously a big budget production in its time, but now out of date. An intrestimg look into the past!...
