Advantages: soulful, melodic Disadvantages: the media hype on amy's personal life
Amy Winehouse has courted a lot of controversy and the recent coverage of media hype on Amy's personal life overshadows this album which is a shame.
I got this album as a stocking filler at Xmas and I wasn't disappointed.
The album is good, Amy sings beautifully and I especially like the Back to Black - it is soulful and quite melodic. I'm amazed at the sounds and tones Amy can present it really is marvellous
Rehab is the song that really brought Amy into the limelight and is good, but I think a bit overplayed on the radio now. It is a good song as are all the songs on the album
It is a shame that her version of the Kook's 'Valerie' does not appear but I guess this is copyright of Mark Ronson.
In short I would recommend to others ...
Advantages: The songs have real meaning, easy listening, different style & what a unique voice! Disadvantages: The swearing could be scaled down & the feeling your aiding towards a bad lifestyle

You would recognise the album in any shop as it has Amy Winehouse appearing and written across a black background. It doesn't scream look at me unlike some of her songs. It doesn't need to its nice, simple and does the job. You couldn't imagine Amy spending days in the photo studio to tart the cover up it is very much Amy Winehouse style a sitting pose looking quite thoughtful and in some ways troubled.

I can remember the first time i heard Amy Winehouse sing, i thought wow now theres a good voice. I can remeber the even bigger shock when i saw her on TV she looked nothing like i would have imagined!
Sadly she has been in the papers alot recently for things other than her records, this made me decide to remind everybody of one extremely good aspect about her - her voice.
Back to Black is Amy's second album and was released last year. There are many tracks on there that most people should have heard of. If you havent where on earth have you been hiding for the last year?
This CD is well worth a listen, the tracks are catchy and amy's voice is simple amazing.
