Pachelbel: Organ Works

Advantages: Classical music of the highest order providing 'Where have I heard this before?' entertainment.
Disadvantages: A pathetic excuse to release classical genius, along with poor album art and information.

...idea behind this album was to show how great classical works inspire hundreds of pop hits centuries after they were composed. For instance, Beethoven's 'Symphony No. 5 "Fate" 1st Movement' is cited as inspiring the Beatles' 'Roll Over Beethoven' and Faure's 'Pavane' inspiration for S Club 7's 'Natural'. However, it is difficult to see how such works relate to modern pop (from Pachelbel to Kylie?!?) and I suggest ignoring this concept altogether. Summary… If you fancy broadening your cultural horizons with classical music, this album is a great place to start. Even if you cannot see pure genius within each composition, you are still guaranteed to enjoy the album simply because you recognise each track from everyday life. Advantages: The best album yet, fanastic choice of songs
Disadvantages: Alubum cover picture does not do Katherine any justice.

...To date this is my favourite Katherine Jenkins album. It has a great mx of both classical and modern songs on it. My favourite being (Quello Che Faro) Sara Per Te (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. This is the Bryan Adams song from the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. It has rewritten in Italian and sound fab. Bryan Adams plays the guitar during the song. I also believe that he took the pictures for the album cover. Hopefully this album will win her, a third classical Brit Award in 2007. Advantages: fantastic dance music

...I seem to be making a habit of finding rare and obscure books or music, Well this is no exception. This is Tielman Susato, Dansereye 1551. Tielman Susato was a cathedral musician and a copyist. He also played in the town band. He set up a publishing shop in Antwerp. He published many of the Chansons and Motets of the day. He also published this book of dance in 1551. There was music in Church. Organ and vocal, catholic and Protestant both. There was music at Royal court. Here as church bishop you could afford to keep several professional musicians. There was the town band, The Waits, professionals who could play in church and at important civic functions. The alehouse usually had something like a violin hung on the wall for anybody to play, though the pitch and tuning can only be wondered at. A major Fayre could attract some... Read review
