where to start?..............i dont really know what exactly to say about this?! I really like it..........
I have always loved Fatboyslims music, but have never bought any of his CDs? Why? and why have i bought this one? The answers to all of those questions is...I dont know!!! I have no idea what possesed me to buy this album, i suppose it was an impulse buy...but i havent regreted it. Although this isnt Fatboyslims best material it is stiill very good and also amazingly unique. His electric, dance/pop sound is very unique and i dont think can be heard with any other artist.
Within this album there are some very very very odd songs with some even more odd lyrics, but even their oddness has not put me off!!! The first track in my opinion is a fabulous start to the album, it is called "Dont let the man get you down" and starts with an almost comical intro of lots of "ooooooooooooooooooooooooo"ing with just a piano to acompany. After about 30s of this it launches into the most bizzare set of lyrics ever..."AND THE SIGN SAID LONG HAIRED FREAKY PEOPLE NEED NOT APPLY!" These are the only lyrics in the song and are repeated endlessly until the end of the track. You would of thought you would get bored of it but really you dont, you will find yourdelf singing, no screaming along to the song. This track really leads you well into the rest of the album. The released songs "Wonderful Night", "Slash Dot Dash" and "The Joker" are all brilliant as most songs that have been released are (me and my friends have a dance to slash dot dash now, try and do the movements of slash dot dash with your hands...hours of entertainment!) There are some slower songs wich are very easy to listen to such as "NW3" and "Put it back together" and then there are the ones which may cause irratic driving such as "jin go lo ba" and "slash dot dash". There is a real mix of types of music on this album, all however are dancey and so make this album the ideal one to get ready to if you are planning a long night out with your mates! The only song I dont like is "Song for chesh" purely because of the really irritaing string section at the begining! It is very high pitched and quite hard to listen to.
The lyrics are brilliant and also hilarious, listen really carefully to some of them, they are pure genius! All the songs present brilliant tunes which are simple and repetative and also easy to dance to!
