Advantages: Fun, addictive, seriously playable, and the CARNAGE :) Disadvantages: Can be difficult to get used to, easy to get lost in races
dislike for. The graphics looked a little too plastic, the physics and handling weren't the best and to be honest the games were totally infuriating. It wasn't until Buggy came home from a days shopping last year, clutching a copy of Burnout : Takedown that I actually wondered whether I may have misjudged. I need to digress a bit here, but most of the point of Takedown was to crash into the AI opponents and, well, take them down. It was kind of road rage in a box. So it was with great delight that I got Burnout Paradise.
Burnout Paradise doesn't have a story to it. You're basically one guy in a big city and apart from gaining all the licences by winning races, there is no other real aim. The lack of story though doesn't really stop it from being a great game. To be honest, actually having some sort of story would have probably ...
Advantages: The free run of a huge city in some very flash cars. Disadvantages: The bike experience isn't quite there. Other driving games offer more variety.
Introduction
Burnout Paradise was one of last year's big hits; the latest in the long running Burnout series it expanded on its largely track-based predecessors to give you a whole city - free of any distractions like police or pedestrians - to drive around in with plenty of other cars to race, dodge, or crash into. This Ultimate Box packages up the original game with the downloadable content of Bikes and Party into a single game.
Gameplay
Playing the game can be as simple as freely driving around the city and exploring it's nooks and crannies if you want to be. To spice things up a bit there are numerous events that take range from straight races to ...
Advantages: A wide and varied range of heavy metal. Disadvantages: None
and suddenly the awesome Set the world on Fire was there before me. I watched a few more videos of their songs, then promptly logged onto Ebay and bought this album, which I am reviewing now? Paradise Lost (based loosely on John Milton?s poem).
Now I like various styles of music, but I am a bit of a metal head, and that is exactly what Symphony X appeal to. In short, they are a power metal quintet. I am not saying it is pneumatic drilling all the way, oh no: they have a varied assortment of sounds from fast, to chunky, then to soft and melodic. There is a grand operatic sound to them too, as though their music could be the theme to Lord of the Rings or something similar. I think that sums it up briefly?
Vocals:
Russell Allen is the singer and boy does he have a varied voice! Throaty, gritty metal, then to a softer tone. At some ...
