Dai SiJie has created a unique coming of age story.
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress depicts the lives of two teenage boys being sent to re-education in Mao's China, Luo and the Narrator (his name isn't given, so he is simply referred to as the Narrator. )
They are moved to a remote place, Phoenix Mountain. There, they lived in the second floor to a pig stable and meet the Little Chinese Seamstress, the most beautiful girl around.
Their lives were then spiced up with the discovery of about their friend, Four-Eyes. Four-Eyes had a stash of English literature books, long since banned. They ultimately steal these books and their lives were transformed forever.

My brother has been going to the paradox since he was 16. He's 19 now and has stopped going because it is over run by little kids, 13+ year old girls going in there. They recently changed the age of entry to 19 but are still letting really young children in. It's like a youth club disco or something. I went once and some girl, must have been about 15 came over, all drugged up and asked me for a tablet. I was like, are you serious? Really need to get those bouncers sorted. Also of a saturday they have radio city in. Hmmmm, how nice NOT!!! I couldn't go to a club and have people doing shout outs and chatting a laod of rubbish interupting the music, theyr'e dj's not MC's, should keep their moutsh shut. I defo wouldn't recommend going to this place unless you're like 15 or something, you'd love it then :o) Try cream ...
