Advantages: Peter Greens skill is rediscovered in the form of Gary Moore Disadvantages: None
perfect in my opinion.
Track 4. I Loved Another Woman From the album "Fleetwood Mac" This has a strong guitar riff the whole way through, GaryMoore cannot be faulted in the way he has presented all of these tracks
Track 5. I Need Your Love So Bad This song was originally sung by Christine Perfect form the group Chicken Shack, Christine was John McVie's wife and played piano too. It is played really well by GaryMoore giving a male slant to the song. One of my all time favourite slow blues songs.
Track 6. Same Way A strong song with a heavy base line that is complemented by Garys guitar and vocals with one of the best guitar solos I have heard for this type of song.
Track 7. Supernatural I feel that this song has a lot of GaryMoore style of guitar to it. Some notes are held in a similar fashion to "Parisienne ...
Advantages: Blues, blues, and more blues Disadvantages: None, unless you don't like the blues.
, for its style,i.e. the blues. Pure guitar, pure sorrow lyrics (though I admit, there was only a little of this here, thankfully, as the blues are blissful, but so bloody depressing in its lyrics, but hey, that's why it's not called 'the greens !')
I've listened to GaryMoore on and off for some 6 years now, this is one of his much better works. He, on occasions, tends to be a bit repetitive in his songs, this album totally avoids that, and even has two 'extra special' tracks on it besides his usually top quality stuff.
If you like the blues, even in the slightest, you'll love this.
Wonderful music. ...
Advantages: imaginative celtic rock. Disadvantages: dont expect the Gary Moore of the blues days.
remember a friend of mine, so sad now that hes gone"
An upbeat and stadium rock tune that uses dynamics well, rising and falling to great effect, a rollercoaster flight through classic rock. Nobody does this betterthan Moore. The rock continues with the darker and less flamboyant "Take a Little Time" where the keyboards of veteran rocker Bob Daisley come to the fore.
The one instrumental track, "The Loner" is reminiscent of classics such as "Empty Rooms" and "ParisienneWalkways" and is typically GaryMoore, its smooth sweeping guitar played in almost operatic style. Its at this point that you start to get the sounds creeping in that indicate Moores move towards the blues format that was to follow.
"Friday on My Mind" gets a rock face lift and offers a slight change in style from the album, theirs more space for the keyboards ...
