Patsy Cline's remarkable voice still resonates amongst vocalists today, in pop as well as country. Her earthy yet studied approach as a singer gave such records as '57's "Walkin' after Midnight" and 1961's "Crazy" (penned by Willie Nelson) a unique quality unmatched since her death in a 1963 plane crash. This 24-track retrospective was originally released shortly thereafter and includes all of her classics such as the above tracks as well as "She's Got You," and "Sweet Dreams." It also features some nice extras, such as her takes on standards such as "San Antonio Rose" and "The Wayward Wind." --Billy Altman

Elton John duets on "Written in The Stars" which I love as it is a wonderful ballad and both artists put in strong vocal effort, it reminds me of the songs Elton John sings on the Lion King soundtrack.
The theme song to "Legally Blonde 2", "We Can" is fantastic, the song is up-tempo and incredibly catchy, I find myself singing it all day long, which can be a bit annoying for my family because I haven’t got a voice like Leann Rimes, although in my head I do! It's a strong competitor with "Can't Fight The Moonlight", two very brilliant songs.
LeAnn also does a cover of the PatsyCline classic "Crazy" the vocals of LeAnn Rimes are much stronger than those of PatsyCline and make the song much better, I love the song and think it is one of LeAnn Rime's best recordings.
Another song which is really catchy, is a country song “One...

...Neko Case delivers again - the question is - is the country ready for her? With a haunting voice that takes you to a place where you have never been before and really you won't want to come back 'Fox Confessor' offers bold unconventional distress for the listner yet in a soothing mannor.
Take the title track - '' .......hanging round the ceiling half the time ...'' even Neil Young could not come up with that.
Margaret v Pauline and Maybe Sparrow are probably the highlights on what is arguable Cases' most audacious material to date.
The 30 something singer raised on punk rock appears almost dainty and slight until she opens her mouth and something not dissimilar to PatsyCline emminates from the Virginian / Seattle hardworking musicain....

...The perfect marriage of Rhythm & Rhyme…
When this album was released in the March of 1992, I personally had never heard of K.D. Lang.
All this was about to change with the release of “Constant Craving” as a single from the album I was completely blown away what a performance, I had never heard anything like it before.
On one hand the vocals reminded me of an old torch singer like Peggy Lee or PatsyCline but on the other hand there was an element in her voice that give me the feel of Elvis or Roy Oribson, this was enough of a reason for me to go and buy the album.
As the album opened with the track “Save me” I held my breath this was heart stopping stuff, as I checked the sleeve notes I saw not only was she a voice to die for but she co-wrote all the tracks, all with her producers Greg Penny and Ben...

Info on album songs:
Bursting onto the country music scene with a song called 'Blue' in 1996, LeAnn was at the tender age of 13. 'Blue' was written by a DJ named Bill Mack, and was originally written for PatsyCline.
Following the single was a continuing string of hits, right up to LeAnn's most recent hit 'We Can' (from the film Legally Blonde 2: Red White And Blonde).
Her second single, 'One Way Ticket (Because I Can)' went to No.1, and her next single 'The Light In Your Eyes' was another hit that showed us LeAnn had the ability to go far.
Around same time, LeAnn was asked to sing a song written by Diane Warren for the up and coming movie 'Con Air'. Yes, you guessed it, the song was 'How do I live?', which gave LeAnn her first real taste of pop music, and which stayed in the charts for a record number of weeks. It will stay...
