Advantages: Pure rocking-blues heaven Disadvantages: Eric Clapton's more famous.
...What do you think of when you hear the name Gary Moore? Rock? Blues? I just think GUITAR! So when perusing my local music shop and coming across "After Hours" I expected to be in for a ear bashing of rock oriented, blues based, guitar driven music extravaganza......I was right.
After Hours is an inspired album from an artist at his peak. Pure molten blues with the kind of edge to it that Eric Clapton can only dream of. Gary plays his Les Paul, incidently worth almost £30000, like theres no tomorrow, wrenching every last bit of emotion from every song, whether it was there or not in the first place. From "Cold day in Hell", a slight throw back to "Pretty Woman" from his last album, to "Nothing's the Same" (a classic song in anyones book) the album speeds along breathlessly, twisting and turning with each new mood of the guitar...

GIVE UP! Review ofOpen Road - Gary Barlowby
Frayed_Edges
Advantages: You could buy it to laugh at? But otherwise...none. Disadvantages: It's the worst record in history.
...I was never a Take That fan, and I am not a Gary Barlow fan either! What is wrong with this man? Why can't he just give up? No one buys his music, and this song is just the pits. Take That were rubbish, and Gary Barlow is rubbish. So Robbie Williams took off, and became very famous and well known, but just because Robbie is good, doesn't mean Gary Barlow is going to be good. Ok, so he was lead singer in Take That, and when they split up everyone assumed that he would be the one out of the five that would carry on a solo career, but things changed, and they went well for Robbie and not for Gary...so Gary mate, give up! This song is rubbish, and if you wanna make some money, start working on a cruise ship, and maybe you'll get spotted by the BBC....

Moore please!!! Review ofOld New Ballads Blues - Gary Mooreby
Amrion
Advantages: Moore gets better with age! Disadvantages: Only 10 songs
...I have been listening to Gary Moore for a long time now and I believe his blues albums are his best work. "Old New Ballads Blues" is exactly as it sounds. 4 Old blues songs that Gary makes is own, 6 penned by Gary, including an instrumental and all 10 vary in tempo with some lovely slow blues.
Gary and his trusty Gibson have done it again and this album leaves you feeling mellow / relaxed and exilerated at the same time!
The only flaw is the fact that there are only 10 songs on the album. I personally look for between 12 and 16 songs so, for me, that was a bit of a let down.
This is a must for any blues fan. I can't wait to see him on his UK tour in Glasgow in May!!!...
