They were nominated for many awards, and won the Video of the Year award from the CMA. Whats The Music Like The music is a mixture of bluegrass and country. What I'd associate it with, is if a group of good ol boys got together for Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner and everyone asked them to play some music. The sound is honestly down home, and very easy to listen to. Whats even easier, is the way you get into the Christmas spirit when you put it in to play. :) Well, Tell Me About The Songs On It Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town is the same song we grew up with. An explosive mix of distorted guitars and vibrant bass, the rhythm is kept in place by everything but the percussion, which are off beat. 'Bulls on Parade' 'Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal' With a solo that is ranked at number 23 of the '100 Greatest Guitar Solos' by 'World Guitar', this track deals with the theory that industry promotes war for profit and the government uses fear to control the masses. It features a funky riff from the lead guitar with intense use of the whammy and an explosive chorus, but it is the percussion that provides the driving force. ...George Harrison, 'the quiet one' of the Beatles, has recently been in the news for none-too-happy reasons. Time, I thought, to go back into my record collection and refresh myself on one or two of his albums I hadn't listened to properly for a while. 'Dark Horse' was first released in December 1974. Critics had expected the world from him after the high point on which he started his solo career, notably the 1971 Bangla Desh benefit gig, and failure to come up to expectations, plus his outspoken religious beliefs, brought the knives out.
