Advantages: Basement Jaxx aren't just what they seem! Disadvantages: The album could be too diverse for some people!
...The guys from Basement Jaxx really expanded their musical talents in this album, and showed us their more rocky and eclectic side. Having bought the two previous albums, I had built up the unique style of Basement Jaxx in my head. This album expanded their sound and gave us something different to their previous two albums.
I know that Basement Jaxx are considered a prime innovator in the current house/dance scene, and listening to their third album, Kish Kash, I can definitely tell that this is not your standard club music. Their are anonymous diva vocal remixes of popular songs I often hear when I drag my friends out to the clubs. If nothing else, the vocal collaborations ( Me'ShellNdegéOcello, Siouxsie Sioux ) indicate something special.
Kish Kash starts out strong with the track 'Good Luck', which is of a drum & bass style. Complex...

Advantages: Raw, emotional, Classic. Disadvantages: Its not long enough
...This was my first Muse album and i'm impressed. I have to say it reminds me of Radiohead if they had decided to make a thrashing beast of a rock album, this is not to say that Muse are derivative in anyway it is meant as a huge compliment, it reminds me of that wonderful band at their very best. This is possibly the best album I have heard in years, passionate, heartfelt, Matt Bellamy's vocals are beautiful and painful at the same time, how the band can make such a roaring noise with only three members is beyondme, but buy this, it is inteligent, powerful, emotional rock music that you will be listening to for ages. Definitely recommended....

He toured the UK earlier this year looking older and more rugged than he ever has. Despite a painful lack of rapport with his audience, his awesome display of how to play the blues will stay with me forever. Easy Rider, The Hustler and Some Day My Peace Will Come typify the man.
In Summary, while Rea does have the occasional Sting moment (ie he disappears up his own backside), the vast majority of his work is high quality, enjoyable, and a true reflection of a talent that has deserved more recognition than being a regular runner up at the Brit Awards in the late eighties / early nineties!
A voice and guitar...
