... There’s nothing wrong as such with this song, but there’s something about the very 80’s style song that makes me feel embarrassed for the band!
The biggest disappointment on this album for me was the title track ‘Pearls of Passion’. I think this is a very ... Read review

Advantages: Some good tracks Disadvantages: Some really boring/cringeworthy tracks
I wasn't actually aware that this album was available in the UK. I actually downloaded it a couple of years ago, and only recently discovered in when looking through a pile of old Cd's.
This was the first album from Roxette, released in Sweden in 1986, and was unreleased in the UK, as the band only became known worldwide with the release of Look Sharp.
This album is a perfect reflection of the music that was popular around the time of its release, ... ...through occasionally, but it's very different to some of their later more guitar orientated albums.
There’s a chance is you’ve heard some of Roxette’s other albums, some of these tracks will be familiar. ‘Soul deep’ also appeared on the ‘Joyride’ album and ‘So far away’ appeared on ‘tourism’. ‘Neverending Love’ has also appeared on some compilation albums, & I think most ...

Advantages: Some amazing songs Disadvantages: Some pretty bland songs
This was the 1st album in 1986 from the Swedish duo consisting of Per Gessle and Marie Fredrikson. The general sound is very different from some of their later work, but if you like general 80's inoffensive pop music, you'll like this album.

'Secrets that she keeps' starts slowly, and the start is almost enough for me to want to press fast forward. It's a typical inoffensive poppy track, with a strong drumbeat. On the whole though, this track doesn't stand out for me on this album.
The following track 'Goodbye to You' is pretty similar, just Per's voice rather than Marie's. This is another track that doesn't stand out for me.
Oh dear, 'I call your ...

Advantages: Some catchy tunes Disadvantages: too many versions of the same song
Pearls of Passion is the first album by the Swedish duo Roxette.
Marie Fredriksson does the vocals and Per Gessle does the vocals and rhythm guitar.
They also have a backing band that plays:keyboards, piano, organ, electric bass, 6& 12- string guitars, drums and backing vocals etc etc..
It came out in 1996, but I have only just recently got it.
There is 20 songs on the album and these are:
Soul Deep, Secrets That She keeps, Goodbye to You, I ... ...Lovers Do, So far Away, Pearls of Passion, It Must Have been Love, Turn to Me, Neverending Love(2),
Secrets That She Keeps(2), I Call Your Name, Neverending Love(3),and
I call Your Name(2) The thing I hate about this album is that thete is two or three versions of the same song.I know they sound slightly different, But more varity of songs could have been included.
If I had bought this first instead of Look Sharp! I doubt I'd have bought many ...
