This debut album by Spunge is an all time classic keeper! The band are amazing live!!!, and have created a loyal fan base via their extensive U.K touring. A more accurate description would be that they manage to expertly combine the essence of ska, with pop-punk. They are a unique sound! It's fun, happy, witty and uplifting. And their obvious great sense of humor is apparent throughout. It cannot fail to cheer you up.

If that is what you are looking for you may well be disappointed, but go and listen to them with an open mind and they will amaze you. The lyrics really are fabulous! And so further below I have taken bits from each of the songs as examples. These lyrics on there own would make great music regardless yet Spunge also manage to put these to top class catchy tunes that will be implanted in your memory forever. What more could you ask for!

They sound to me a bit like a cross between old style greenday (dookie era) and the presidents of the united states of america (pusa). but the main vocalist has a higher more boyish voice than both of those. the lyrics come out hard and fast and are tied together by catchy little hooks which have more of a melody to them. each and every song is very easy to imagine live and gives you that buzzing excited feeling as if you were really there.

Even the sleeve artwork is amusing and uplifting featuring lyrics from each of the song put into illustration. (That pic at the top is awful!) The cover is colourful and fun and sure to look good in any CD collection.

'There's nothing wrong with writing total nonsense lyrics,

My lyrical content

Heard some people saying that you had a sense of humour,
there may well be some truth in that but I think it's a rumour.
Said I get most of my lyrics from Peter and Jane,
I tried using Thesaurus but the songs came out the same.
Like to think we're standing on the funny side of crazy,
our future's looking bright although the past's a little hazy.
It's not about how clever or witty the prose,
it's more about the feel of the song and making sure it flows.'
