...The late great John Peel (RIP) certainly had a really good taste in music. As well as nominating Teenage Kicks by the Undertones as his favourtie song ever (it's high up in my top ten) he championed one of my favorurite bands the Delgados (also RIP since they split up in 2005). During a ten year period they recorded no less than seven sessions comprising of twenty nine tracks in total for John Peel's late night show on Radio 1. These sessions have been compiled into a comprehensive double CD. I doubt the Delgados will ever have a best of (and certainly not a greatest hits as this criminally underacted, wonderful band never dented the top 40. Advantages: Tense, Atmospheric Thriller
Disadvantages: Hardly upbeat! (Is a positive for some!)

...Now i'll turn my hand to a little video nasty! Hardly but a little more of a creepy one than I usually review. So what's it all about? ------------------------------- 'Session 9' is a film made in 2001 and is directed by Brad Anderson (The machinist). The film is a psychological thriller set around Danvers State Mental Hopsital and is focussed on a team of asbestos removal specialists who are somewhat obstructed in the path of completing their work by a few odd occurances in the old Hospital. The team are given a strict deadline that their leaders Gordon (Peter Mullan) and Phil (David Caruso) are in disagreement over the realism of the goal. ...Papa Roach: The paramour sessions This band are from California and the band are: Jacoby Shaddix ? vocals Jerry Horton ? guitar, backing vocals Tobin Esperance ? bass, backing vocals Dave Buckner ? drums Alive (N' out of control) 5/5 3:22 This track shows what type of band they are from the first few seconds. It has a metal rhythm to it along with a type of beat that you just want to headband to (I had to resist other wise my glasses would of come flying off and broke). The lyrics are amazing I had researched what they were because you can't really hear the vocals over the beat. But as soon as I read them I could understand them when I played the track.
