This was the sound of pop in 1982,fresh catchy and at the time very cool, not as sophisticated as the new romantic bands of the time (Duran Duran A.B.C. etc) but not as po faced as some either(Gary Numan,Ultravox),a breath of fresh air breezy tunes that caught the sun, this was their only album ,if you had it then buy it again with extra tracks ,including b-sides and twelve inch versions ,if your new to Haircut 100 or a curious eighties fan you could do a lot worse than Pelican West ,a comprehensive booklet gives a good history and the whole package is almost as accurate as the original L.P,so i guess not a classic album as such but certainly a classic POP album worth tring or indeed re-visiting
I'd be interested to hear more because having heard a few of their songs, they sound very good. If you could give a few more details about the band, and then about the record (the good songs, the bad songs, etc), I'd love to re-read your review.
Sorry for the low rating but you haven't really told us what is on it. Give us an example of some of the songs and what they sound like. How does this compare to similar albums etc I suggest you read around other reviews (especially music) and this will help. If you edit this let me know via my guestbook and I'll come back and re-read it.
