The proceedings kick off with the aforementioned 'No Cigar'. This is sing-a-long fast-guitar punk-pop at its very best. This is a fantastic opening track and is also backed up by some very witty lyrics. This is followed by a few very simmilar sounding songs, however these just lack a certain 'something', maybe just something different that would make this album even better. However, the third track, 'Material Boy', is another of those stand-out tracks on this album, i personally believe this to be partly because of some more excellent, sarcastic lyrics, which tell the tale of a boy who always wants more material possessions.
For me, it is tracks 6 & 7 that really make this album as good as it is. Track 6, 'Penguins & Polarbears', is a refreshing, yet upbeat strangely, song about a relationship between two people who are complete opposites (hence the name, referring to the opposite poles). The next track, 'Hellman', is about how somebody is unable to say 'i love you', the bands lyrics are once again used to excellent effect in this song, with the opening lines, ''No matter what i feel for you, those 3 words i cant say, I regret the times i used the word OK''
This album is one of maturity, which is what makes this band stand out from other simmilar bands. Two the closing tracks, 'A-Ten' and 'The Ballad' deal with something very different to that at the start of the album, these songs are particulary interesting in the way that they bring the album to a slow, sad ending, but still hold your attention for the whole time.
This album is special in the way that there are no tracks which feel like they are much weaker than the others, however they do wear thin after a few listenings.
Overall, this is an excellently mature punk-pop album, with exceptional lyrics which display a range of emotions, but its not quite worthy of 5 stars for some reason which i am still unable to fully hold down.
...releases. Literally translated Örebro means Pennybridge hence the album name 'Pennybridge Pioneers'. Nicola (bass and vocals), Erik (guitar), Larzon (drums) and Mathias (guitar) all started off in different punk groups but eventually became known as Millencolin; picked for its resemblance to the skateboard trick 'Melancholy'. After 3 full albums and one Millencolin compilation album consisting of B-Sides and EP Tracks, a new album was born. Millencolin's ... ...never fails to inspire. It captures a sense of immortality: this album will prolong your life, that I am sure! And who knows-you may be there at their next show!!

Advantages: Huge choruses and thumping drums. Great new-wave pop punk from sweden Disadvantages: similar to others in their genre, they do little to escape or be different
The latest album by the swedish punk-pop combo is quite possibly their strongest yet. The first track sets the album off at a furious pace, while the final track 'the ballad' shows the band's diversity with some acoustic harmonies. Beyond doubt, the peak of the album is 'penguins & polarbears' and the fantastic 'devil me' with the thumping chorus of 'i want it all....'. Even though this album does imitate the very successful sound of green day and ...

Advantages: Great songs with a wide variation in tempo and style. Disadvantages: Only really for Millencolin fans or punk rock enthusiasts.
This was the second album i had purchased by Millencolin and was undoubtedly better than the first (Home From Home) which was also good. There is a lot more variation in the tracks, with fast paced songs such as Pepper and ballads, such as The Ballad.
Originality - Although Millencolin do not seem to be much different from other punk rock bands out there, they have a unique style blending the guitars, bass and drums well along with strong vocals ... ...quite random in a way but some (eg. The Ballad) have hard hitting and meaningful lyrics.
Quality And Consistency Of Tracks - Most of the tracks are very good on this album and everyone who owns a Millencolin album prior to this will enjoy the continued greatness from this Sweidsh band. As i mentioned earlier, the tracks vary in pace and style and i feel that as time has gone on, the tracks produced by this band have got better and better!

Those super Swedes Millencolin are back with an absolutely superb album. Their fourth studio album released on Burning Heart records / Epitaph. Following on from their last album For Monkeys which has to be one of my favourite albums and most frequently played cd’s. The single released before the album was out called “Penguins and Polarbears” was stunning and really made the album sound exciting. But however good that track is, there are so many ...

Advantages: YOU WONT BE ABLE TO STOP LISTENING TO THIS (i don't know whether that is a good thing or not) Disadvantages: DISADVANTAGES?
OK. GONE ARE THE DAYS OF 70S PUNK. OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW. THIS SWEDISH BAND ARE RUNNING RIOT WITH THIS THEIR SECOND OF 5 ALBUMS AND NOT BY A LONG WAY THIS IS THEIR BEST. THE THING I LIKE MOST ABOUT MILLENCOLIN IS THEIR ORIGINAL SOUND. THEY DON'T SOUND JUST LIKE YOUR AVERAGE PUNK ROCK BAND. THIS IS SOFTCORE AND IT IS A UNIQUE SOUND WHICH YOU WILL NOT HEAR ANYWHERE ELSE ON THIS GLOBE ANYWAY. THIS ALBUM IS THE KING OF SOFTCORE.IT IS DIFFICULT TO SAY WHICH IS THEIR BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM COS THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD BUT I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO SAY BULLION, KILLERCUSH OR MAYBE SOFTWORLD. MARK MY WORDS: YOU WILL NEVEWR GAT BORED OF THIS ALBUM. IT HAS NOT BEEN REMOVED FROM MY CD PLAYER SINCE I TOOK OUT THE NEW MILLENCOLIN ALBUM PENNYBRIDGEPIONEERS WHICH IS ALMOST AS GOOD.
IF YOU GET THE CHANCE TO SEE MILLENCOLIN LIVE YOU WOIULD BE ...
Advantages: A number of excellent tracks feature on this release. Disadvantages: Not as hard hitting an album as Millencolin releases of the past.
For a long time now I have admired the sweet sound of the music of Millencolin. The band actually formed in Sweden back in 1992, 'Machine 15' is the bands seventh studio album to date and it must be said that my opinion is that the bands best ever album has to be seen as 'PennybridgePioneers'. Released in the year 2000, 'PennybridgePioneers' was exceptionally well crafted from start to finish and never was the music in the slightest bit disappointing. 'Machine 15' is the third album the band has released since 2000 and is I believe an album well worth listening to. This album begins brilliantly and although it is not the strongest that this band has ever released, 'Machine 15' is I feel another excellent album to have been put out there by the supreme Swedish force that is Millencolin.
One noticeable quality about this 'Machine 15 ...
Advantages: Return to top form for the Swedish four-piece. Disadvantages: Not as good as Pennybridge Pioneers, but that's impossible really.
Introduction
----------------
Well, what can I say? Millencolin return after a three year absence with an album that left me pining to be able to see them live. Kingwood is a fantastic album, it really is. All 12 songs are different in their own right, and while not being ground-breakingly original or innovative, produce new and improved sounds.
Main Review
------------------
Kingwood is brilliant. Enough said really. Although it doesn't quite equal the sublime existence of PennybridgePioneers, it can't really be compared anyway. The two albums sound virtually non-related, and it just shows the leaps and bounds Millencolin have made as they'd matured and grown older together. Their music is tighter and more defined, and at times far more serious. While PennybridgePioneers had serious songs like The Ballad, Duck Pond and No Cigar ...
