Pump is the quintessential 80s mainstream heavy rock album. Loud and proud, brassy and tongue-in-cheek. Filled with monster hit singles such as the lascivious Love In An Elevator, and the more restrained Janie's Got A Gun, it's everything good about Aerosmith on one extremely user-friendly album.
Side one is unbridled fun, full of double-entendres and an unstoppable, infectious energy. A couple of weak moments towards the end of the album prevent it from being a complete triumph, but overall they never sounded so on top of their game as they did on Pump.
