...This CD is packed with a range of different music. It has softer songs, which you can lay back and relax whilst listening to it. Then it has more powerful stronger songs in it, which are forceful and demand to be listened to. The variance of the song reflects the story that it is unfolding. The slower songs are the placid parts of the story, and the louder faster songs are the upbeat parts of the story. One great thing about listening to this CD (if you appreciate opera music) is that you can actually understand what is being said. Most operas are performed in foreign tongue, but thankfully, The Phantom of the Opera is spoken in English. You are able to understand what is being said, the story that is being told and you are able to identify the atmosphere from the story by the way the music is performed. The story is based on love... ...This is the Double CD taken from the recently released film of the same name, it is the SPECIAL EDITION and has a hard backed 14 page booklet with photographs from the film and behind the scenes, it also has additional music. There is a list of the cast, including, GERARD BUTLER as THE PHANTOM, EMMY ROSUM as CHRISTINE, MINNIE DRIVER as CARLOTTA (singing voice of Carlotta by MARGARET PREECE), I believe Minnie Driver hadn't the singing range required to play the part, she does however sing 'Learn To Be Lonely' on the second CD. Tracks include....THINK OF ME, ANGEL OF MUSIC, THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and many more! Music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber. ...This Phantom of the Opera soundtrack has been with me everywhere - in my portable CD player all around town, my boombox in my room, the CD player in my mom's car, my computers, and finally, my iPod. Each and every song is absolutely mesmerizing to hear, and I have many favorite songs from the soundtrack. The song tracks flow really nicely, and the CD compilation as a whole leaves me wanting to play the entire thing over again. In fact, I picked up the DVD for the movie after listening to all of the songs, which I loved, and am eagerly looking forward to watching it. I would highly recommend this CD to anybody that is seeking spiritual upliftment!! What a great buy!... Read review
