Advantages: Great blend of blues, country and rock Disadvantages: some songs are a bit slow
...A number of good tracks which have a great blend of rock ,blues and country. Great easy listening cd which also has songs quite unique to both artitsts. Great collaboration of two artists famous in there own rights, must admit Alison Kraus wasnt very keen on beforehand but mixed with Robert Plant the mix seems to be quite striking at times.
Alison's voice is quite haunting in trampled rose where as Robert sings Polly come home in such a tender and heart felt voice, love it. Have been converted to listening to other work done by Alison after loving Let your loss be your lesson, cant stop singing when that comes on in the car. Very surprised by this cd as i honestly thought i wouldnt enjoy it, but it may not be to Plant fans taste but would certainlyy appeal to Kraus fans....

Advantages: fantastic vocals Disadvantages: doesn't have the song "hold my hand" in this recording
...Me and my Girl is a popular British stage musical, with book and lyrics by Douglas Furber and L. Arthur Rose and music by Noel Gay. It first opened at the Victoria Palace in 1937 and its run of 1646 performances survived the outbreak of war. The show was famous for "The Lambeth Walk" which became a sensation! This version of the show, revised by Stephen Fry, was first presented at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre in 1985 starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson which later transferred to the Adelphi Theatre in London. In 1985 it won the Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Musical and Best Performer In A Musical (Robert Lindsay). It still holds the record as the most performed musical comedy in the history of West End theatre.

Advantages: Giving country a well deserved facelift Disadvantages: -
...The term country these days has achieved the same status as the term folk when applied to music, derision, beligerance and dismissal. One envokes images of cowboys and linedancing, the latter beards, pipes and arran sweaters. Well for those that dig deep enough in the fringes of these genres there are some unexpected rewards to be found, and none moreso than Steve Earle. Earle seems to have grown up back to front, most artists begin as boistorus young tearaways full of angst and calm down to a quieter period in there later years. What you have with this man is an artist who has become more pushy and rebellious with age, to the point where by the time of Copperhead Roadthe young country guitarist had been replaced by the Harley riding, leatherclad, tattooed troubadour.
Image aside, what do you get for your money. Well the style...
