Shakira Isabell Mabarak Ripoll (if you don't know why two last name exists is because in Spanish one of them is a father surname and the other is the mother maiden surname. it is a little explanation it besides of the contest opinion) or only Shakira is Colombian Singer that was born more than 30 years old on the northen Colombian city named Barranquilla near the Caribean Sea, being a Lebanon decendent. Her singer carrer began at the age of 24 years old more or less Althoght she represented Colombia on Vina del Mar Festival singing at the International Contest (On Vina del Mar Festival there are two Contest: An International and typical music) at Age of 13, but she didn't win it. The beging of Shakira or Isabel Mabarak Ripoll , her true name, as a profesional singer was with this album with the whole songs in Spanish, her maternal language with eleven song that she sang and composed, all of them as a rock and it probably with ballad or more or less, in other word, it was different songs than today's songs "Unwrapped" or "Hips don't lie" for example. This album beside of that was produced by Colombian people, that is diferrent ... ...songs of this album sounded of this album and they were number 1 on the radio rankings like "estoy aqui", "Un poquito de amor", "te necesito", "Pies Descalzos", "Donde estas corazon" making one of the best artist of Colombia.
Another album was "Donde estan los ladrones" (Where are the thieves) "Magia (Magic), "Peligro" (Dangerous), Laudry Services and Fijacion Oral Vol 1 and Oraal Fization Vol 2

More or them are like a rock and it has some ballad song as "The day and that has good songs as music and probably not about lyrics, and Shakira as a singers she doesn'y like me specialyy on the higher notes that probably if she partipapes on this pageants like "Operacion Triunfo" in Spain, she probably doesn't pass the casting.

If I compare this album with Fijacion Oral Vol I it is the same, and if I compare with another Shakira's album as "Laundry Service" and probably the Spanish Language Album "PiesDescalzos", "Peligro" and "Donde estan los ladrones" it could be one of the worst Shakira's album ...
Advantages: some very good songs, excellent work for a debut. Disadvantages: not mainstream so people will be very critical of it.
This review is about Shakira's debut album PiesDescalzos. However I would of put it in the correct place had this product been on the Ciao site.
I have read raving reviews on Shakira's second album Dónde Están Los Ladrones and personally I have to agree. However, her debut album is slightly disappointing if heard after second album.
As what usually happens, artist get better with experience and age and this is certainly true with Shakira. I haven't actually bought this album, Ive only borrowed it off a friend and to be honest, this is how it will stay with me. Although this album is a stomping debut for someone of her age when she made it, it doesn't have any staying power with me, as in its not an album you would buy and years later still be playing it. To be honest Im not being very fair on this album in comparing it ...
