Mo Willems is a cartoonist, scriptwriter and animator, famous in the US for such wonders as Sesame Street, Sheep in the Big City and The Off-Beats. He has won six Emmy Awards and his simple, yet very expressive, cartoon style has made him a firm favourite. He is married with one daughter and lives in Brooklyn.

The plot of this book is very simple but very funny. It involves a bus, a bus driver, a pigeon and YOU! The bus driver leaves you in charge of his bus for a while with one simple instruction. Despite all the pleading and wheedling you must not on any account let ...

Up until now, I'd only ever heard of ''John the Revelator'' as a song. Judging from the several mentions of the song in the story and given that author Peter Murphy works in the music press, I suspect that's where the title of this novel came from as well. How much I enjoy the song depends on which version of it I hear, but with no such concerns with the book, I was able to enjoy it fully without worrying if someone had done a better version elsewhere that I was missing out on.
John Devine is a teenager stuck in a small Irish town with a single mother, no real friends and a rather worrying fascination for bodily parasites, mostly intestinal worms. The Pigeon Detectives have been waiting to unleash this album on the globe, and rightly so. 'Wait For Me', released on label Dance To The Radio, clearly puts the five-piece on the map as more than just friends of the Kaiser Chiefs. Bubbly guitars, northern sung vocals, and an album full of indie pop, The Pigeon Detectives could have one of 2007's success stories under their belt.
Track one, the single that enhanced their fanbase ten fold, sounds awesome. 'Romantic Type' is captivating, mixing paces throughout and of course we must mention the sort after "1! 2! 3! 4!", which comes before a rocking guitar solo. This starts an underlying theme of love through the record.
