Advantages: everything about it! Disadvantages: none
...This is weezer's debut album and thier best (just edging out the stunning pinkerton). The newly released deluxe edition features the orignal ten tracks plus a bouns disc of b-sides, demos and live performances from that era. The original disc is just as fresh and catchy now as it was in 1994, classic such as only in dreams, buddy holly, say it ain't so and undone, still ring turn today and catch you heart and soul as they did 10 years ago.
The b-sides could have been on the original album such is the quality of 'jamie' and 'lullaby for wayne' Some of the demos are a bit ropey but were recorded in a kitchen!
Overall its a stunning album even more so when you consider its thier debut as well...

Advantages: Blunt, humerous (at times) Disadvantages: Seems to be the end
...honestly believe every syllable (the perfect backing vocals only emphasize the passion behind the words). The band also delivers a smashing closer in the angsty power-ballad "Haunt You Every Day." It's a strange way to end the album, but sometimes there's still some venom left in an apology.

Of course, with apologies, not everything comes out the way you want it to sound, but it's all backed by raw honesty, if nothing else.
It's worth noting that the band really sound like themselves on this record, finally. The guitar tone is crunchy and distinctive; the solos are vintage Weezer (If you're a Blue Album/Pinkerton enthusiast...

...- the five star rating you see above is fully deserved and is not just given by a hardcore fan that's trying to look cool. That five star rating is completely real, this album is a five star set of recordings that will go up there, for me, with Weezer's Pinkerton as one of the best albums ever made. The album is a tour de force, and a tour de force of adrenaline.
So, after all that obvious praise, I bet you're thinking who are Queens Of The Stone Age. Essentially, the band is made up of Josh Homme (vocals, guitars) and the completely psycho (literally) Nick Oliveri (bass, vocals, screaming). They are the core members of the group but on each album are joined by various other musicians who build up their sound more strongly. On their last album, the sleeper hit Rated R, they were joined by around thirty different musicians- people playing...
