space by Barrett's enginuity.Richard Wright's wonderfully intoxicating melody's and organs pick the listener up and launch his imagnation into a deep and soothing dream, the band were special, the band was magical, the band was mystical and of course the band was PinkFloyd.
1967 was the era of mystical perfection Floyd released a barrad of beutiful songs including 'See Emily play','Remember a day' and 'Paintbox' before finalising their debut which would mark the peak of the 60's just grew taller, the moment Barrett released this album he stuck a PinkFloyd flag ontop of mount Everest, because their success would escalate into the heavens. The distinct elegance that their debut was devised could only result in awe and marvell.
'The Piper at the gates of dawn' the name of PinkFloyd's debut album was taken from one of the chapters ...
Advantages: Some wonderful tracks and hilarious lyrics... Disadvantages: Some very weird ones too...
Gosh, I am being candid with you this week! This time, I have decided to let you in on a secret about my love life. But more on that later. Read on.
I have a penchant for cheesy pop. I love Steps, Hear’say, Kylie, Atomic Kitten, Abba, Darius and Will Young. But I also have a darker side to me too and a lot of that is satisfied by the wonderful PinkFloyd.
I first discovered PinkFloyd back in 1986 when my First Love (yes, him again) lent me a load of his records. These included a large helping of the Floyd. I listened to The Wall and Comfortably Numb remains my all-time favourite song.
Another of his records that he lent to me was this one – Piper at the Gates of Dawn. It must have worked, I currently have fourteen PinkFloyd albums, although most are on tape and so far, I only have three on CD (Echoes, Momentary ...
Advantages: Contains a vast diversity of music from David Coverdale's post Deep Purple carrier Disadvantages: Nothing, unless you hate Whitesnake (and if you did you wouldn't be reading this)
Whitesnakes 30thAnniversary Collection appears to be a glorified greatest hit album. However it's more than this. Its 52 tracks contain live tracks, the original version of Here I Go Again, songs from David Coverdale's (DC's) album with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and of course songs from DC's solo work. The three CD's cover the carrier of DC after he left Deep Purple.
The first disc with tracks like Ready An' Willing and Fool For Your Loving (live) brings Whitesnakes blues element through to the listener beautifully. I would say the first disc is best of Whitesnakes blues.
The second CD contains the Coverdale Page songs as well as more live songs and a collection of Whitesnake hits. The third CD contains the song Best Years from Whitesnakes latest album and We Wish You Well the song Whitesnake wrote for their audiences but have ...
