Pirates Of The Caribbean Box Set - Various Artists

Advantages: Will please fans of the film.
Disadvantages: Expensive, Not one of Hans Zimmer's best scores.

...and get with the programme of making a score that gets back to basics. Admittedly those basics were set when the first film was a no-hoper, not-a-chance, sneak release which managed to slaughter some three-hour-long guaranteed box office smashes. ...I bought this bos set of 5 CDs from Asda for £5, what a bargain. I'm not usually a classical music fan, but it is great as backbround music for the class of children I teach, plus provides lots of inspiration for Art and Drama. The set contains 5 CDs. The first is classical favourites, most people will know a few from this disk which has 16 tracks. The 2nd disk is Classical Chillout and is all music that is fairly slow, soft and relaxing. This also has 16 tracks. The 3rd disk is Opera favourites, 16 of them. The 4th has only 11 tracks of Romantic classics, and the 5th has 16 tracks again titled tracks from the movies. I was very surprised to see music such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings on this album! So there are a total of 75 tracks to listen to, which I have done all in a row so I cant say what the total... Read review

Advantages: great 3 cd boxset with a variewty of great songs from awesome movies!
Disadvantages: hard to find a copy at the moment

...I recently got into listening to classical music and particularly enjoyed music played by a large orchestra as it gave such a great variety and texture of sound. I also really enjoy watching movies, and this cd is really great as it includes some of the best music from the movies that are classical or played by a large orchestra. There are a variety of different song from a load of different great films and composers. This CD comes as a 3 cd set and each CD has over 10 different songs on it. I really enjoyed this great CD and listening to these songs that i have now purchased the Classic Fm at the movies: the sequel box set and the more recent ultimate collection of songs from the movies. I would recommend all 3, but would have to say that this one includes some of the more well known songs and films, but they are of course all... Read review
