Advantages: Good collection of basic facts about the band Disadvantages: If you're a hardcore fan, you'll have heard it all before
It's fair to say that I'm more than a little bit Placebo mad; in fact, it's truer to say, that I'm obsessed with the alternative three piece!
As a loyal devotee to the band, I'm always on the look out for new and exciting memorabilia to satisfy my band needs.
So, one shopping trip in Lincoln a couple of years ago took me - as always - to a music shop. At the time, I hadn't got all of the Placebo albums themselves so I went over to see what they'd got in stock.
With my Mother doing her best to divert my attentions from their records (later I'd find out this was because I would be getting them for my birthday), my fingers stumbled across an unofficial CD called 'Maximum Placebo' claiming to be an 'Unauthorised Biography' of the group.

Advantages: Vocals, lyrics, music, all of it. Disadvantages: not listened to it for a while.

Expectation to plays a potent role in the placebo effect. The more a person believes they are going to benefit from a treatment, the more likely it is that they will experience a benefit."

My purchase:
I first heard the song 'This picture' (track 3) on a graham norton show when placebo performed it and personally thought it was a good song. I then decided that i would go out and get the album a few days later already having the knowledge of some of placebo's past songs (The bitter end - track 5). Once hearing the album i thought it was quite good and was pleased by my purchase!
