downs. The Mendelssohn is Olympian, cool, beautifully formed--music that is immediately recognizable as the work of the composer who produced the magical Midsummer Night's Dream music. Jascha Heifetz is equally at home with Tchaikovsky's fervor and Mendelssohn's calm. --Joe McLellan
Advantages: Highly originally, technically superb, uplifting Disadvantages: Guitarist not given enough chance to shine
...Well people I’m back, and as it’s been a good while now since I did a music review, I thought that I’d get the ball rolling again with a look through some of the favourite albums in my collection – one of which is the topic for today; Jamiroquai’s Emergency on Planet Earth.
Now as you know, I’m not really one for delving into the history of the band and finding out masses of facts, but I am one to occasionally point out some interesting things about the artists. One of the things that I discovered about Jamiroquai quite recently was something that shocked me considerably – that is, behind The Spice Girls and the chubby crooner Gary Barlow’s Take That, Jamiroquai were the best selling band of the 90’s in the UK, making Jay Kay and the lads the 3rd best selling act of the decade...

...Phantom Planet is truly a very dynamic band they just keeps of changing their music style. This album doesn't mirror the style of the other Phantom Planet albums, but the quality and passion of the music is there. This cd is fantastic. Every song is great in it's own way. The stand out songs on this album are definitely By the Bed and First Things First. Unfortunately, the band has chosen to the retro way, i guess you caould say, by taking the style of older punk bands.
.
Some people say that their new album is having a retro feel and make it sound like it's a bad thing. There is nothing better than music from the 70's and 80's. All the songs are great, catchy - and fun. It is one of thoose albums that is just fun all around. I dig blaring it in the car driving fast with friends. The best songs here would have to be 'The Happy...

Advantages: Fantastic Disadvantages: Cold Machines Is Out Of Place On The Album
...I have been a fan of Alices for fifteen years of so. The original Alice Cooper group started way back in 1968. The last studio album came out in 1994 named The Last Temptation it was a dark and broody theme album. This album follows on form the last album, (most of Alices Albums come in pairs i.e Trash and Hey Stoopid had a simular feel, so did Constrictor and Raise Your Fist And Yell).
Old snake eyes is back with a vengance, this album is full of venom. It is probably heavier than The LastTemptation. My favourite song is Sanctuary. The title track is also excellent and reminiscent of the Posion era of Alices work.
At 52 he can still rock.
The title track can be downloaded from www.alicecoopershow.com.
Heres the track listing and mini review.
