Moby (real name Richard Melville Hall -he's related to Hermann Melville who wrote Moby Dick) has making music for a decade and in that time has released many albums, covering a different style with each one. He has gone from classical music to punk rock so what about Play? Well, what can I say about this album that hasn't been said before. It is truly a classic album and has something for everyone as Moby explores turn-of-the-century blues, techno, ambient, big beat and even gospel over the 18 phenonemal tracks. The most well-known ones are Porcelain, Why Does My Heart and Natural Blues but tracks such as Honey, Find My Baby, Bodyrock and My Weakness have all been used in high-profile TV programmes or adverts. In fact every one of the trackls has been used in an advert somewhere in the world. This seems quite unusual when you consider that Moby threatened legal action when his breakthrough classic Go was used in an American advert. But that's Moby. Unusual. And that's what made Play such an amazing album.
