The title is so because every song in this album has been used in one form or another. Many have appeared in adverts, others in television shows, and some on the wireless.
As with many of my opinions on albums, I will give you a list of songs with a few sentences about them.
1. Honey 3:29 A lively start (you could hear this a lot.) The lyrics consist of "come back, some time." There is a fast beat with this song and there is an occasional slow down, possibly for a voiceover in adverts. The song can get repetitive. 6/10
2. Find My Baby 3:59 The video of this song is very amusing and so is the song in general. Again, the lyrics comprise of "Find my baby" and not much else apart form a few WOO-HOO's. Again, the song is very lively and good for adverts as it does make you feel good. It follows a regular pattern for Moby of fast start, fast middle, and fast ending with a few seconds of slow beats in the middle. 8/10
3. Porcelain 4:01 This was released a s a single and it isn't hard to see why. The song is mostly instrumentals. The lyrics tell of how he "dies in my dreams all the time." It is quite relaxing and does put you in a mood that is perfect for advertisers. A personal favourite as it does have more than one line of lyrics repeated. 9/10
4. Why does my Heart Feel So Bad? 4:24 As the title of the song suggests, the lyrics comprise of the words, "Why does
my heart feel so bad?" It starts of with a solo piano then continues with a few words. It is slow but soon quickens up. It is a good song that you can listen to but not all the time, as with most Moby songs. 6/10
5. South Side 3:49 One thing with Moby is that you are waiting for the song to really begin. This is no difference as the intro is quite long. Even with a solo voice, the song takes a long time to begin fully. However, when it does eventually start for real, it is worth the wait. It is a good song with a solid beat. 7/10
6. Rushing 3:00 A brilliant start that is more like some ancient chant than a Moby song. This song is a relaxing piece of music, which could be easily used to sell spring water or some kind of mint. It has the usual piano and not many lyrics. Don't let the title deceive you as this is very relaxing and will chill you out. 6/10
7. Bodyrock 3:36 Another lively song from the start! The title again gives away the lyrics. The word rock appears way to many times for any sane person to cope, however this is a song which grows on you. The first time you hear it, you will hate it but after a few more listens, it will become addictive and you WILL be humming it. Overall, it's bot a bad song but can become repetitive, as after-all, you can have too much of a good thing. 7/10
8. Natural Blues 4:13 Oooooooh!!! Moby has troubles with God in this song. Another chanting start that soon leas into a main song with a strong beat that helps the song progress. (NB. It is not a good idea to have troubles with God, as there can only be one outcome.) This is a bit too long as it does become repetitive after the first three minutes of "troubles with God." 7/10
9. Machete 3:37 A lively dance track that again shows that Moby can make a song for any occasion and any person. One of the more annoying tracks on the album that many people will enjoy, but I am not one of those people. There are bits in this song that really belong in some sci-fi movie but I'll leave you to lsiten to these. 6/10
10. 7 1:02 This song is an introduction. It lasts for a measly 1 minute, 2 seconds; and doesn’t really start properly. There is a strong drumbeat in the background and the odd horn, of some kind. I'm sure there are plenty of other instruments but I'm not sure what they are. 7/10
11. Run On 3:45 A piano solo start then an amazing amount of lyrics follow. They are sung quick enough so that nobody can decipher them, so Moby's reputation is kept. You can make out the words "long time" quite a lot but little else. Maybe, I'm being a bit harsh on the song. If you concentrate hard, you can hear something about a church. The title ha s absolutely no relevance to the song unless I've missed it (if I have, sorry.) 6/10
12. Down Slow 1:34 As the title suggests, this song is slow. A good rhythm at the beginning gives way to the same rhythm at the end. Moby enjoys making the listeners think that there will soon be a chorus, however, this song, like 7 has none at all. It is a glorified introduction but I like it anyway. 7/10
13. If Things Were Perfect 4:18 "Summer, Summer!" (Echoed several times - repeat a few more times) Well that's the song summed up. There are a few lyrics in the middle but nothing spectacular. The repeated summer does work well. Another song with a nice rhythm and a strong beat, this is a tad too long but still thoroughly enjoyable and extremely relaxing. 8/10
14. Everloving 3:25 A few guitar strums at the start them more guitar lead to the main part of the song which isn't much different. This is a forgotten song and is often ignored by listeners. It isn't brilliant but is good. It is relaxing and will put you in the mood for a bath or yoga. 7/10
15. Inside 4:48 A song that sounds as if your speakers are of poor quality; I'm not exactly sure how he did this but it gives a good effect. This again is relaxing and soothing and well worth the 4 minutes, 48 seconds of your life it consumes. 7/10
16. Guitar Flute and String 2:09 As the title suggests (seen that before), the song comprises of a guitar (or two), some flutes and stringed instruments. Another relaxing song that could well put you to sleep for a nap. Don't listen to it while in a car. 6/10
17. The Sky Is Broken 4:18 A weird start with some percussion then more and more. The lyrics then come along, something along the lines of "sky turns black" and other things about sky. As with quite a few Moby songs, it turns into ultra-relaxation mode again (it happens a lot.) It isn't bad but compared to other tracks it isn't brilliant. 6/10
18. My Weakness 3:38 The final track and again, Moby's fetish with chanting is exposed. The start is some sort of chanting choir. This sums up the album very well. Relaxing, uncategorisable (I know it doesn't exist) and an introduction. Still good though. 7/10
As you probably have guessed by now, it is hard to say what songs Moby makes. Are they dance tracks, relaxing melodies, rock anthems or even gothic chants. Every song is unique and it isn't hard at all to see why ALL of them have been used in adverts, television, and radio. Some are relaxing, some are far from relaxing. I will recommend this album even though not every person will like every song. It is an individual choice.
