Advantages: Close to M62. Wide range of facilities. Disadvantages: Robotic staff, boring rooms. Testosterone fueled bar.
...Work can require me to visit the lovely world of West Yorkshire from time to time and the closest hotel to my office, happens to be the Cedar Court Huddersfield. I have stayed there once but wouldn?t rush back. The only thing going for it in my opinion is the closeness to the M62 and the cheap corporate rate!
Arrival
The hotel is situated just off the M62 at Ainley Top making it handy for the local road links. There is an abundance of on-site car parking which is free for residents and at night there is a security guard outside throughout the darker hours to help keep your car safe.
Check In
Check in was straightforward if a little robotic. We were processed through, credit cards swiped and then given the key to our rooms. This key was extremely retro and of a large size making it difficult to keep in your pocket and felt more like you...

Advantages: Excellent food and service. Convivial atmosphere. Value for money. Disadvantages: A little off the beaten track, but otherwise none to speak of.

GETTING THERE
The Mogul anchors a parade of shops on Terrace Road, just past Cottimore Lane, on the Molesey side of Walton-on-Thames. It?s around a ten minute walk from the bottom of the High Street. Unfortunately, the only realistic option is to drive there...

Advantages: easy watching, high feel good factor Disadvantages: quite corny and pushes the family values a lot!
...As a young child it was a family ritual for me to sit on a Sunday and watch The walton's with my mum whilst she did the ironing!! For me buying the DVD box set was for sentimental and nostalgic reasons but I loved every minute watching the 25 episodes.
If you are not familiar with the series it was filmed in the 1970's and early 1980's and focused on an american family struggling to survive during the great depression. The pilot for the series called 'The Homecoming' is available on DVD too, though a lot of the main characters that featured in the original pilot changed. The idea behind it was to promote good honest family values and also good community spirit. Some might cringe at the though and yeah its true maybe it is a little too sweet but it is easy watching and quite innocent compared to most TV programmes or films which...
