It was sometime early last year and I was so bored, there was nothing to so. So I was annoying all of my family by flicking around on the music channels (my mum hates it when I don’t stay on one channel) anyway there was no good music on. Until this band came on called bullet for my valentine, the song was called all these things I hate. In fact it was very good. At this point I was just discovering the joys of metal music so I was still into pop-punk bands such as good charlotte, panic at the disco, blink 182 ECT… but I had listened to some heavier bands such as Trivuim, from first to last, A7X ECT… Anyway I did what I always do. Straight on to the computer and looked them up, turned out they had an album released but it was only a small album with very few songs on called hand of blood, this was realised on August 2005, they also had another full album called The Poison. I listened to it and it was great. In 2006 November I was going to see them but they had to postpone which kind of sucked but they postponed it to January 2007, I saw them live and they were ok (iv seen better and iv seen worse live) I think the reason I didn’t enjoy them too much was because of the support which were the gallows to whom I cant stand. And also because I was wearing really uncomfortable boots that left my feet recovering from them for days. However I did enjoy the second support which were as I lay dying.
ABOUT THE BAND: There are 4 members, matt tuck who is the vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Michael paget and he is the lead guitarist and backing vocals, Jason James h I the basest and also blacking vocals, and last but not least there is Michael Moose and he is on drums. There was one former member called Nick Crandle.
They are a 4 member metal band from Wales, they formed in 2003, there label is jive records, they have made 4 music videos called: hand of blood, 4 words to choke upon, and all these things I hate and tears don’t fall. They have 2 EP’s one called bullet for my valentine which was realised November 2004 and the other called hand of blood which was realised 22 August 2005. The have one album called the poison which was realised on October 3 2005.
They have won many awards including kerrang award best new British comer in 2005, they won best new comer in the welsh awards in 2005, the won best perform on guest list in 2005, they won best British award in 2006 from metal hammer awards and a few more.
THE ALBUM THE POISON:
Intro For an intro it’s kind of long lasting about 2.30 mins but it’s a great intro, the lead guitar comes in about half way through and it sounds great. At the begging it’s so soft and calm, it’s like being in a dream, in a place that’s so peaceful. (Until the second song comes on)
Her Voice Resides: This song starts of very heavy with matt tuck screaming away and the instruments going. As it gets into it slows down a bit when it hits the chorus it livens up a bit. The drumming really stands out in this song, and so does the screaming. During about 2/3 through there is an excellent guitar solo. A truly great song. This song lasts for just over 4 mins
4 words to choke upon: This song was released as one of there singles. It stars of with great guitaring, and then the drums slowing are introduced. It was said that they wrote this song because off all the people the doubted them when they weren’t famous and told them they wouldn’t get anyway. Lol I be there kicking them self’s.
Tears don’t fall: This is probably one of the best songs that they have done, it’s fantastic. There is a music video to this and the video is so interesting as well. Starting of with a fast guitar but very quite then it goes all heavy with matt screaming “lets go” during the versus it’s rather calm (well calm for bullet) then it gets heaver during the chorus.
Suffocating under words of sorrow: This is average song its gets a bit better during the chorus but apart from that I find it rather bad for bullet, it defiantly isn’t one of there best. However it does have a great guitar solo. This song was also realised as one of there singles.
Hit the floor: This is a great song, very powerful and fast. After about 21 seconds of the song the lead guitar comes it and it truly sets the song. During the verse it’s a little calmer but not much. I must say though matt’s voice is great on this song.
All these things I hate: This was realised as one of there singles and there is great video for it. This was the first song I heard by bullet for my valentine. It starts of calm and slow with an acoustic guitar and a second later matt singing it’s so calm during the first verse and the use of words is great. Once it gets into the chorus it becomes more powerful, but back to being calm during the second verse.
Room 401: A rather powerful song and very heavy. It’s powerful and heavy the whole way through. I love this song though id probably say it’s my favourite or at least one of my favourites. It’s very catchy. It’s also a sad song if you listen to the lyrics. But it’s a good song if you have just got out of a relationship and you hate your ex lol.
The poison: I love this song, its sad but very catchy, it’s not very heavy but it’s rather heavy, I love the chorus of this song I also love the use of words. This song is one of my favourites. It also has a great guitar solo in it.
10 years to day: What can I say????? This song is very sad, very catchy as well but so sad. It’s about their friends that committed suicide. When I listened to it I just cried. When listening to this song you can just feel the emotion running through the song, it’s so powerful. I can’t help but listen to this song over and over again and just cry to it. During one bit it has these lyrics: I’ll bleed if you want me to (which is screamed, ill serenade before I do /(which is sung) ill bleed if you want me to (which is screamed and geld for a while) and during this it’s just so sad.
Cries in vain: A good song, decent lyrics, good instruments, its rather powerful, up beat and heavy, during the chorus it gets heavier.
Spit you out: A heavy song on the album, its very average, it has decent music but its nothing good until the chorus where it gets a little better but not much.
The end: Well this song is exactly what it says, the end of the album. It starts of lovely, really slow and really soft. It’s the longest song on the album. It’s a truly great song, it ranges from slow and heavy bits but the start has to be the best. It’s rather slow in the intro and the verse but as it leads up to the chorus it gets heavier then back to slow and soft. And that’s it, that’s my views on the album. It’s a great album which I love listening to. The album is available from most music stored in most countries (I think) it has different price ranges but normally in-between £5.00 to £12.00 unless like I normally say you get it from the wonderful cheap eBay hehe. Anyway thanks for ready oh and I hope my spelling wasn’t too bad as I have looked over this review 3 times.

Review of Poison, The [ECD] - Bullet For My Valentine
...The Floor, Room 409, The Poison, 10 Years Today, Spit You Out… all key components of easily the best album of 2005, and if that's an indicator of what's to come from Bridgend's little Welsh boys… good help the rock world in 2006/7.

Advantages: Killer riffs and catchy songs Disadvantages: Maybe a little bit nu-metally, but no big problem
After what felt like a very long wait, B4MV finally released The Poison in October 2005. After listening to hit singles 4 Words and Suffocating Under Words Of Sorrow on repeat many times, I hoped that the rest of the album was as good as those. And I was right. Every track kicks huge amounts of ass.
1. Intro - 8/10 - A nice strings intro played by Apocalyptice, a 4 piece cello band who are known for covering Metallica songs. Some lead guitar comes ... ...feel that 2 and a half minutes is a bit long for the intro but it's still great
2. Her Voice Resides - 10/10 - Oh yes! What an intro! I was instantly moshing in my room when this song came on. Anthemic and powerful with some killer riffs and breakdowns
3. 4 Words (To Choke Upon) - 10/10 - The first single from the album. Another anthem which never gets old
4. Tears Don't Fall - 10/10 - Wow. Just simply wow. Thi is the best track on the album and ...

Advantages: The riffs, the solos, the singing!! Disadvantages: What!! none!
This is the second album from the Welsh four piece . The band consists of: Matt Tuck on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, "Moose" Thomas on drums, Jay James on base and vocals and Mike Padget AKA Padge on lead guitar. Their first self titled mini album was a great album and a good indication of what the music world could expect from these boys but I don't think anybody thought their first real album would sound anything near as good as this! The band ... ...that produced rock superstars like Funeral For A Friend and Lost Prophets. The band used to be compared to Funeral For A Friend, until they proved that they were really nothing like them and a lot better! I first found out about the band when I was at my best friend's house and "All These Things I Hate" came on Scuzz. I was so impressed that I went out and bought the album!

The band grew up listening to metal greats such as Metallica, ...

Bullet For My Valentine, originating from Bridgend in South Wales, was formed by singer and guitarist, Matt Tuck; Lead guitarist, Michael Paget; Bassist, Nick Crandle and drummer, Michael Thomas back in 1998. They started off playing covers of Metallica and Nirvana songs under the name of Jeff Killed John before developing a style all of their own as Bullet For My Valentine.
Nick Crandle left the band shortly after they formed and Jason James replaced ... ...Though they had originally intended to be a nu-metal band (such as Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Korn) when nu-metal started to fade out of the scene they changed their name to Bullet For My Valentine and started to form the metal core band we know today.
After a few months playing live the band attracted a certain amount of attention from record companies and eventually decided to sign to Sony Music Entertainment, the band chose Sony because they ...

Advantages: Awesome riffs Disadvantages: not enough of it!
The explosion of young, old school-style metal bands over the last 12 months couldnt have been better timed for B4MV.
Frontman Matt Tuck, having struggled for years for recognition with his former band Jeff killed John, was determined to have one last shot at the big time before giving up for good. If Lostprophets and other welsh bands such as Funeral for a friend have so much success, why couldnt he? After all they had the songs and as much talent ... ...its originnal release, "the Poison" - with obvious influences from classic bands such as Iron Maiden and Metallica and powerful, emotive lyrics - Still stands strong as testament to Tucks faith in their talent. It's an album that has taken Bullet on two high-profile, sell-out UK tours, their first excursions on US soil, the same Download fest. bill as their idols Metallica, support to Guns n' Roses, a stint on the Warped tour, and a return to the ...

Features enhanced material. Welsh heavy-metal quartet Bullet for My Valentine began making serious headlines in the metal press in 2005, and with good reason. The band combines a vintage U.K. metal sound (think Iron Maiden and Judas Priest) with the ferocity of 21st-century metalcore and the emotional angst of emo. THE POISON, the band's punishing full-length debut, finds all these elements mixed to perfect measure via top-tier production. In addition to the relentless sonic attack, Bullet for My Valentine also filled THE POISON with solid songs, a factor that distinguishes them favorably from their legions of metal and screamo peers.
