'ow do, I'm from Yorkshire. I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say. I'm the voice of a nation and Radio God to boot (also very modest). Catch me live, Thursdays, in The Snug (www.snugradio.co.uk) to see whats currently taking my fancy.

The God of Parody reaches into his box of satire delights and bestows fresh nuggets upon us. This is an all round 'hum-dinger' of an album.
As it's my duty, even my raison d'etre, to bring un-mainstream music to the masses, I've been a Weird Al fan for ages. Most of you will know the popular stuff like his Michael Jackson parodies, 'Fat' and 'Eat it' but there is still a sad lack of Al in the charts. C'mon people, if that damn Crazy Frog can get to Number one... Sheesh!!!
Snap Judgements
1. Couch Potato Parody of Lose yourself... Eminem never sounded so good. Fast talkin' TV trashin'
2. Hardware Store Rythmic and complicated. Watch for the mid-section then checkout the lyrics on the inlay to find out what just happened. Frenetic.
3. Trash Day Parody of 'It's gettin hot in here'... Don't particularly like Nelly. Liked this.
4. Party at the Leper Colony All my childhood leper jokes in one song! For those with a particular sense of humour
5. Angry White Boy Polka An Al speciality, a polka mix appears on every album. It's success depends on you knowing the selection of songs. He has done better polkas though.
6. Wanna B Ur Lovr Lenny Henry's Theopolis P. Wildebeest should be doing this song on tour...jam packed with so many cheesy chat-up lines, it looks like a pack of mini cheddars.
7. A Complicated Song Parody of Complicated... This one fits so well to the original, I often do it on karaoke (yep, sad enough to have remembered the words).
8. Why Does This Always Happen to Me I skip past this on the cd to get to 9 & 10. doesn't make it a bad song, just didn't appeal to me when there are other gems to get to.
9. Ode to a Superhero Parody of Piano Man...Cleverly rendered plot retelling of Spiderman 1. Made me dig out the original song for a listen and then marvel at how close it is.
10. Bob A spot on Bob Dylan imitation. Sounds like an unintelligible filler until you realise each line is a palindrome. Then you grasp the true linguistic genius of it all.
11. E-Bay Parody of That Way... If you've ever Ebayed, this song's for you. All the Ebay lingo is there and it seems Al's been watching my buying habits!!
12. Genius in France Appears to be a product of it's time (Iraq war - France etc). A Long, long song, stylistically varied and diverse. Took a while to grow on me.
Original Release Date: May 20, 2003 Label: Volcano
Finally, it's worth noting that it's an enhanced cd so you get a small 'home' video narrated by Al and some bonus tracks (instrumentals). All of which bump up its value.

Weird al is a clever guy lol. Have you heard "Like A Surgeon"? One of his best, the video is great, its a rip of Madonnas "Like A Virgin" - Good op. Kenneth.

It is an excellent album, I must thank you Maf for introducing it to me! Unfortunately I don't get too much time to listen because I'm always watching ER :o)
