...Femulen ? well it brings a whole new meaning to the saying poppills? as they are commonly known as POP (progestogen ? only ? pills)
I first started taking these a number of years ago, following a rather hmmm embarrassing visit to my General Practioner. I went to see him as I was already sexually active and wanted to reduce the risks of becoming pregnant after a few episodes of the ?god im late?. Test quickly? I decided that I should be sensible. Anyways he discussed with me all the different contraceptives there was available for moi?.. In the end it was decided that I should take the progestogen only contraceptive, namely Femulen.
This reason for this is that it?s the best alternative to the combined pill (progestogen and oestrogen) for all those ?types? of people that can not take the combined preparations. This is very handy...

Advantages: No getting preggers! Disadvantages: Forgetting to take or losing the pack.
...I have used Microgynon 30 for nearly 3 years now and have never had any problems, although for the first 2 years of use I was only taking them as a precaution in case other contraceptives failed. This came in handy as I have gained some experience before I really needed it.
For just under a year now they have really come in useful as my partner is allergic to other contraception and this makes things a lot easier for us both. If you are in a similar situation and would like to try out Microgynon 30, I would suggest that you start off using it with other contraceptives until you are used to taking the tablets daily at a preferred time.
