Advantages: Lots of bangers Disadvantages: Nothing specific
?Signature? was released in 2009 and dropped as the eighth album from the R&B singer Joe Thomas (although known mononymously as Joe). The crooner first hit it big with the new Jack Swing jam ?I?m In Luv? back in 1993 and was known mostly for his such as ?Stutter?, ?All The Things? and ?I Wanna Know? through the nineties and into the ?00s. Though mainstream attention has lessened, he still has continued to churn out new material and this 2009 album helped him to show that he hasn?t lost what he brought during the key R&B turning point during the nineties.

We get the album off to a great start here as you find that you get a track from the singer where he brings forward a song that dropped as the lead single to the album and in spite of the fact that it didn?t really get too much exposure (or perform too well when it came to ...

**Introduction**
Joe Thomas is one of the longest standing R&B singers around at the moment, having released eight albums to date since his debut album "Everything" in 1993. I saw him live at Hammersmith Apollo on 11th April 2007 with Boyz II Men and Brian McKnight and I am due to see him live again at Bristol's 02 Academy on Friday with Ginuwine. I thought it would be a great opportunity to review his latest album which was only released on 21st September 2009 in the United Kingdom.
**Signature**
This is the second independent release from Joe after he signed with Kedar entertainment. The album features Joe's usual mix of smooth love ballads and up tempo tracks. The album features production as usual from Joe himself but also includes production credits from Kedar Massenburg who also owns the record label that Joe Thomas is signed ...
I caught this film on telly one night as the only reason this film jumped out at me originally was because Will Young is in it, as I think he has a great voice and after winning pop Idol he deserves it, he makes an appealing debut as Bertie the male lead on stage.
This film is based on a true story.
This film is based in World War II; Mrs Henderson is played by Dame Judi Dench, who after her husband passes away buys The Windmill Theatre along with the help of Mr Vivian Van Dam played by Bob Hoskins whom becomes her business partner.
The Germans are bombing London, but the roar of the Windmill is all that can be heard as Mrs Henderson gives the soldiers going to war something they will never forget. Mrs Henderson then seeks permission for the girls to go on stage naked with little covering their modesty, which in this time was ...

Album Notes
Personnel: Joe Henderson (tenor saxophone); Sting, Chaka Khan (vocals); Conrad Herwig (trombone); Stefon Harris (vibraphone); Tommy Flanagan (piano); John Scofield (acoustic & electric guitars); Dave Holland (bass); Jack DeJohnette (drums). Principally recorded at Avatar Studios, New York, New York from May 25-28, 1997. "Summertime" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Personnel: Joe Henderson (tenor saxophone); John Scofield (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Conrad Herwig (trombone); Tommy Flanagan (piano); Jack DeJohnette (drums). Audio Mixer: Jim Anderson. Recording information: Lake House, Wiltshire, England; Signet Sound, Los Angeles; Avatar Studios, New York (05/25/1997-05/28/1997). Photographers: Jimmy Katz; Merri Cyr. Arranger: Joe Henderson . The music of Porgy and Bess has been "Joe Hendersonized," with beautiful results. Gershwin's sultry and sad music makes a wonderful vehicle for improvisation inside Henderson's arrangements. Along with Henderson's decidedly modern harmonic approach, Stefon Harris' coloristic vibes work, John Scofield's twisted blues guitar and Jack DeJohnette's abstract-but-swinging drumming remind us that this is a nineties telling of the tale. "My Man's Gone Now" is arranged in classic 1960's Henderson style, for a unique upbeat blowing version. Vocal appearances by Chaka Khan and Sting round out this modern interpretation of a Twentieth Century classic.
Album Reviews
Down Beat (11/97, p.46) - 3 1/2 stars (out of 5) - "...the material comes from a time long enough ago that it requires something of the soul and sound of a romantic to express....the ensemble arrangements are well-crafted....fine solos from all..." JazzTimes (12/97, p.146) - "Credit where it's due, and lots of it to share here....how suite it is"
