Captain Beef hearts music was/is experimental, blues, rock underground music. Not really understood by our parents. I was born just a little bit late to be a real hippy just caught the tail end of that era. But music was a great part of my growing up believing in peace and love long hair long skirts. And Beefheart was part of that.
Don Glen vliet was born in 1941 in California. In his teens he met with Frank Zappa they went to the same high school...

Porkchops with mustard, yummy fancy the thought of it. What are you waiting for lets get cooking
YOU WILL NEED
4porkchops
salt
pepper
25g/1oz butter
1 tablespoon wine vinegar or orange juice
3 tablespoons stock or water
1 tablespoons french mustard
150ml/1 quarter pint single cream of top of milk
Okay, rub the chops with the salt and pepper.
Melt the butter in a frying pan and then fry the chops until they are browned on both sides and cooked through.
Transfer then to a warmed plate and keep warm.
Poor off all but the 2 tablespoons of the juices from the pan.
Stir in the vinegar or orange juice and stock or water and bring to the boil.
Simmer untill reduced slightly, then remove from the heat and stir in the mustard followed by the cream.
Finally pour over...

...When we were looking for a restaurant to celebrate my Mum's birthday, The Butler's Wharf Chop House seemed the perfect choice, coming highly recommended from various colleagues who have impeccable dining taste. One of the Conran Group's restaurants, it's situated right on the river overlooking Tower Bridge, the setting is wonderful, and was particularly great for my Mum, whose Dad actually designed the engine inside Tower Bridge. For a London restaurant it's actually very accessible, particularly for parking, as there is a multi-storey car park just around the corner, or if you are using the tube, it's just s short step from London Bridge tube.
On arriving at the restaurant we checked our coats in (I hate when you have to sit with your coat over your chair - pet hate of mine!) and were led into the main restaurant to our table where...
