Advantages: Comprehensive setlist, played brilliantly Disadvantages: Vocals can get a little strained
This mammoth 3-CD spread taken from their 2000 show at the Roseland Ballroom NY shows what Dream Theater can really do live, given the time.
The first half of the performance is dedicated to a full reproduction of one of fans most loved albums, Scenes From a Memory. Each of the songs is given a definitive playthrough, with the bandmembers showing throughout why they're so highly regarded as musicians. A new addition to the set is a slow, soulful intro to 'Through Her Eyes', where guest singer Theresa Thomason matches her powerful gospel wail with some soft, melodic soloing from Petrucci.
The rest of the set is a real treat for fans of the band, as they journey through some well loved classics, and a few surprises. Fan favourite 'The Mirror' sounds heavier than ever, while the epic 'Learning to Live' really gives the original ...

Advantages: Great location, every need taken care of Disadvantages: Price!
I recently had a chance to stay at this rather lovely 4 star hotel in York. My husband is involved with a medical company and for their AGM this year they stayed at The RoyalYork with a meal at the nearby (if you call 40 minuets on a coach) Castle Howard. All very posh and normally way above my means of expense (for the general person attending this function think doctor, surgeon, well paid researcher), however as hubby does work for them they paid for most of the trip (we had to pay £26 in total, what a great deal!).

The hotel is situated next to York train station and has a large car park so it?s convenient to drive too. The hotel is about 5 minuets walk away from the centre of York where there are loads of shops from the normal high street chains to antique and art shops.
