A lone Star
Review of Phantasy Star Universe (PS2) by  Siren25

Advantages: Playable, nice graphics, quests, many shops
Disadvantages: camera angels, limited to certain areas.

...Phantasy Star kept entertained over the last xmas period. It was a gift i received and was very surprise to get. You could image i steamed into this on xmas day and was pleasant surprise with its furtristic graphics but limited on the areas to travel to. But loads of little fun things to do. You take the role of a young boy whos father was a protector of the planets (Guardian) almost a bit like a UN peace officer. To his dismay he finds out his father is killed while out on a mission and now needs to help bring his sister up and try to get a job to look after her and seems to be watched over by a friend of the family who persuades the young boy to carry in his fathers foot steps as a Guardian on the universe and protect all the indangered planets. Game starts off a little bit slow and then the storyline kicks in. You get to do... Read review

Whispering to Witches - Fairly Average Fantasy With A Twist
Review of Whispering to Witches - Anna Dale by  fleurdelacour

Advantages: Good Characters, Interesting Plot
Disadvantages: Might be a bit simple/short for some people

...What seemed like an average day to Joe Binks soon turns out to be anything but. After finding out he is to spend his Christmas not with his father but with his mother, stepsister and stepfather he embarks on the journey to Canterbury. However, after sharing a train compartment with some rather strange companions he gets off at the wrong stop and borrows a tricycle to finish his journey. It doesn?t quite go to plan when he lands in the middle of a failing witches coven, the Dead Nettle Coven. It's not all bad for him though, because before he can continue on his way he makes friends with a young witch called Twiggy, something which entangles him in the middle of a conspiracy while they hunt for an elusive missing page from a spell book. As you read, you're introduced to all sorts of different characters, from a magical cat called Squib... Read review

Dale Brown's best book to date
Review of Fatal Terrain - Dale Brown by  superpricee

Advantages: Tremendous read, keeps your interest locked in.
Disadvantages: Some of the technology can be a bit overwhelming for the uninitiated.

...I'm quite a big fan of Dale Brown - I've read all but 4 of his novels, and those 4 are missing due to lack of availability at the moment. What is particularly outstanding about his work to date is that all his novels follow on from each other in an ongoing storyline - yet each book stands alone as a unique story. Brown uses the same main characters in each of his stories (mainly Patrick McLanahan and Brad Elliott) to give his long-time fans a sense of the familiar with each new novel, yet he creates new characters in new situations each time, so that a first time reader doesn't feel they have joined halfway through. This is a diificult skill to master, and Brown accomplishes it easily. This story, Fatal Terrain, sees a return to the skies aboard Brown's favourite creation, a refitted B-52 bomber known as the "old Dog", after his... Read review
