Advantages: It's different to most music! Disadvantages: Not everyones cup of tea.
AlanJackson is a folk and country singer from Georgia. His music is mainly diddley-dee and all weird guitars and country genres. This isn't really the sort of music that i would like but because my dad bought it i sort of got hooked.
This sort of music is also associated with NASCAR in America.
~~Gone Country~~
This song is fairly upbeat, and its about Alan's girlfriend and about the story of how she 'went country' and went back to her roots. Alan also says in the song thats its his last chance which could indicate many reasons for that line... he wants to tell her he loves her?
~~Drive (For Daddy Gene)
This song is rather annoying and slow in the verses but more lively in the chorus. Alan explains his experiences when his ''daddy'' let him drive. He describes the car in the song and what he can see when hes driving. ''It was ...
A review of Precious Time a novel by Erica James
Precious Time is a modern novel with a romantic, gentle feel to it. My last book review was a gritty, dramatic piece of writing, 'Precious Time' is a complete contrast. You would feel comfortable allowing your 14 year old to read it or even your 90 year old grandmother. I bought the book as the synopsis read well, describing a young woman who gives up her job and buys a camper van in order travel to spend more time with her son. It sounded a little like my current lifestyle so appealed to me.
**The storyline**
Clara Costello has a well paid job, a desirable home, friends and family around her. She is also a single mother to a little boy named Ned. As Clara is faced with Ned due to start school later in the year she decides to rent out her home, leave her job and take Ned ...

**Introduction**
Michael Jackson has become a lot like Marmite with many people around the world over the last few years. Some either Hate him or Like me Love him. (Or rather his Musical legacy). With all the bad press I thought we should focus on something positive and With his huge upcoming stand at London's 02 Arena coming up I thought it was time to review the album that is freshest in the memory of Michael Jackson fans and that album is of course his 2001 album Invincible.
**Invincible**
It's been eight years since Michael Jackson released this album and that makes his previous gaps between albums seem like an artist who releases an album every year or year and a half where it has always been around four years apart from 1997's Blood on The Dancefloor after 1995's History. Invincible was released by Epic Records and features ...

Album Notes
Alan Jackson: Alan Jackson (vocals, guitar); Brent Mason (acoustic guitar); Gary Prim (piano, organ); Keith Stegall (piano); John Wesley-Ryles, Melodie Crittenden (background vocals). On 2006's PRECIOUS MEMORIES, country superstar Alan Jackson ventures into gospel territory, offering up a set of warm and inviting faith-themed songs. These spare tracks feature no percussion and rely almost solely on piano and acoustic guitar, allowing the focus to remain on Jackson's resonant vocals and the songs' devoutly Christian lyrics. Although praising Jesus is clearly the core of this album, the beautifully minimalist renderings of spiritual classics are so soothing and pleasant that the disc's appeal is sure to extend to fans of Jackson's secular music, particularly on "Softly and Tenderly," which is enhanced by gentle organ lines, and "I'll Fly Away," here given a light, jaunty bluegrass feel. The resulting atmosphere evokes images of the Georgia-born singer/guitarist sitting in on a friendly, open-air church service, leading a sing-along of traditional numbers such as "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You."
Album Reviews
Rolling Stone (p.94) - "Alan Jackson sings in a rich, restrained baritone that helps give even his rowdier songs a touch of classic-country elegance. That voice is at its most sensibly sturdy on PRECIOUS MEMORIES..." Entertainment Weekly (p.103) - "The delivery of these old church songs is solemn, the accompaniment sparse, and the historical value real..." -- Grade: B+
