Advantages: Completely unique Disadvantages: Not all of it is good
...Kid Creole and the Coconuts won very positive public support for their few live performances in 1980. This encouraged the band to work on a second album, Fresh Fruit In Foreign Places. The album chronicled the Kid’s search for his erstwhile lover, Mimi ( a story loosely based on AugustDarnell’s own experiences when his first wife left him).
Fresh Fruit In Foreign Places was ecstatically received by the British press, and Darnell hailed as a modern day soul genius. Unfortuantely the record got little radio airplay (though Me No Pop I) - a single credited to Kid Creole And The Coconuts Present Coati Mundi - was a minor UK hit).
The group were unable to capitalise on the enthusiasm of the press as the Ze label lacke dthe funds to finance a UK tour. Despite the record’s wit and verve, it flopped; the appeal of Darnell’s polished...

Advantages: original, addictive, instrumental, and talented work. Disadvantages: none
...No doubt that this is the most original, creative and intriguing album ever. It is an absolute masterpiece and no other present bands can or has achieved this since it was released. If you think a present band has done better then please leave a comment and tell me the name of the band. Advantages: Very catchy songs, unique sound Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

I listened to the album all the way through, and though the songs 'Cash Machine' and 'Hard to Beat' were very good. Nothing else really stood out at the time. But after listening to the album over and over again, I found myself liking more of their songs as they grew on me.
Here is a guide to all the songs on their Album:
1) Cash Machine - Very catchy song, and was released this time last year. An upbeat song, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Could listen to this song over and over again. 9/10
2) Middle Eastern Holiday - Not the best song on the album by any means. Slightly...
