...Wide Open Spaces If you?re looking for a great starter country album then look no further than Wide Open Spaces by The Dixie Chicks. It?s a great introduction if you have never really listened to country before and are not really a fan of the old classics yet, like Dolly Parton, etc, but want to experience a bit of the blue grass, country and that whole scene and get into the music. This album offers you upbeat, toe tapping, yee-hawing, classic story telling country with a new modern, sexy twist. The Dixie Chicks is made up of three females, Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines and Emily Robison. They are the highest grossing female band in the US, selling over 36 million albums as of March 2009! Advantages: Presses trousers with minimal effort and produces a sharp crease.
Disadvantages: If the trousers are not put in perfectly you get a 'tramline' effect.

...into the press incorrectly you?ll end up with tram lines running down the front of your trousers and the only way of successfully removing these is a trip to the dry cleaner or the washing machine. In the sixteen years that we?ve had the press this has happened a couple of times, but it was down to ?our? (i.e. ?his?) carelessness and was no fault of the press. Even repeated use of the press doesn?t leave the trousers looking shiny, which does happen with regular ironing. Incorporated in the press is the ?Corby Stretcher Bar System? which removes those annoying wrinkles at the back of the knee. I?d love to know how this works, because it really is very clever. Advantages: A polished all round performance from three feisty lovely ladies

The CD is packaged with a fold-out sheet that introduces the girls, includes photographs and gives the words of ?Wide Open Spaces?. There are no other lyrics (although these are easily available on the internet). CONCLUSIONS. This is an accomplished album ? one you must have if you are becoming a Chicks fan. It is a youthful sound but certainly not immature. It may not have the exuberance or range of ?Fly? or the introspection of ?Home?. Natalie Maines shows the power of her presence and her voice in front of the trio. The solo instrumental talents of the other two girls are somewhat subdued and overshadowed both by the words and the combined power of the fourteen-man backing group... Read review
