I love the film - I love the soundtrack! It has a great mix of both famous and not so well-known songs, but nearly all are great. The soundtrack was made in 1990. Most songs are from the 80s. There are 11 songs:

...10. Roy Orbison - Oh pretty woman
Do I need to say anything at all? Probably not. It's played on a few occasions - first is when Edward takes Vivienne shopping and she gets really expensive clothes and she looks amazing and so happy. Just sing a line or two - now. Don't you love the song? Amazing song - great lyrics, great tune, great voice - just great.
11. Red hot chilli peppers - Show me your soul
Weird song, this ... ...album, but it is a pretty good song. I think there's one great line, where it says 'In a world that can be so insane, I don't think it's very strange for me to be in love with you' I think that kind of sums up the film for me.
For big movies, there usually are good sountracks and this is no different. I think it is suitable for anyone, from any generation. BUT, I recommend you see the film a few times first. If you havent't see the ... more
I love the film - I love the soundtrack! It has a great mix of both famous and not so well-known songs, but nearly all are great. The soundtrack was made in 1990. Most songs are from the 80s. There are 11 songs:
1. Natalie Cole - Wild women do A fairly well known song. Great voice, great tune and it's very catchy. It is played when Vivienne first goes shopping in Beverly Hills. The lyrics are good too: 'You think that love is a vision of a princess in a picture. But let me tell you something little boy, you wouldn't know love if it hit you' The song is basically saying that wild women do what they want and can't be expected to be weak and flower-like.
2. David Bowie - Fame 90 You probably know this song. It is typical David Bowie - sounds a little strange and isn't like any other song on the cd. It's not great as it isn't catchy enough. The lyrics aren't great, but if you like Bowie, then I guess you'll like this.
3. Go west - king of wishful thinking Their most famous song, and rightly so. It is a good song about a man who likes to think he's over the girl, but isn't. It's played at the start when Edward leaves his party after splitting from a girl called Jessica over the phone. It's weird that this song is used here, as Edward didn;t seem to upset about splitting with Jessica anyway. But, yeah, a great song. One of the best on the album, which you'll end up singing along to.
4. Jane Wieldin - Tangled This is quite similar to king of wishful thinking as it has a similar sound. It isn't a fast or slow song - just in-between. Another one to sing along to. 'What was simple now seems complicated. All the plans we made just seem outdated' are two lines form the song.
5. Roxette - It must have been love This song is on when Vivienne leaves Edward after their week together is over. She looks like she'll cry; he looks like he just lost a billion dollars. It is such a powerful and strong song, as I am sure most of you already know.
6. Robert Palmer - Life in detail The worst song on the cd. I skip it every time. Robert Palmer is known most for 'Addicted to love', but this song is completely different - you would never know that it was the same guy singing. It is not catchy, has a poor tune, poor lyrics and is just not good.
7. Peter Cetera - No explanation This song is fast at times and slow at times. I think this one actually sounds more like Robert Palmer than the song above. It is quite catchy, but doesn't seem to bare much relevance to the film. It is about a man looking for a reason why he split with his girlfriend and finding none.
8. Christopher Otcasek - Real wild child (wild one) Never heard of this guy but it sure is a great song. It sounds quite a lot like 'wild women do' - similar tune. Average lyrics, great tune - really catchy.
9. Lauren Wood - Fallen Slow song. It sounds kind of sad, though it is about someone being really surprised that they have completely fallen for someone else. This is really relevent as both Edward and Vivienne didn't expect to fall for eachother, but really did. The voice is amazing - the best on the cd I reckon. It is a very feminine voice that is still fairly strong.
10. Roy Orbison - Oh pretty woman Do I need to say anything at all? Probably not. It's played on a few occasions - first is when Edward takes Vivienne shopping and she gets really expensive clothes and she looks amazing and so happy. Just sing a line or two - now. Don't you love the song? Amazing song - great lyrics, great tune, great voice - just great.
11. Red hot chilli peppers - Show me your soul Weird song, this one. I do think it is quite random that the RHCP are on this album, but it is a pretty good song.
If you havent't see the film, don't buy it.
The cover and inlay is pretty good - a few nice little pics from the film. I have seen this on sale for as little as £5.99 in HMV and I think that is the lowest you'll get it unless you try on the net.
...- Lauren Wood
10 Oh Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
11 Show me your soul - Red Hot Chili Peppers
When reading the play list if like me you do not recognise the name or artist of some of the songs once you hear them they are recognisable and for me bought back some great memories from the film.
The CD cover lists the artists included on the CD and Richard Gere and Julia Roberts standing back to back next to the CD title. The inside of the CD cover ... ...of the CD has the track play list and some photos from scenes from the film.
The CD was produced in 1990 by EMI-USA Records Limited and the copyright is also owned by EMI-USA.
This is a great CD to accompny a great film. I cant remember how much I paid for my copy but I have seen it for sale in several shops for under £5.
I do highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys the film. ...

Advantages: Good for long drives with friends! Disadvantages: None really.
I have this soundtrack and I have to be honest and say that although I thought the movie was a bit cheesy the music on here is great. I particularly love the Lauren Wood - Fallen track which I think is really quite beautiful and very soothing. Rested against a bit of Bowie and Roy Orbison and this is a really fun soundtrack that'll please any one on a road trip. It's great when I've got a long distance to drive and with such a mix of musical styles ... ...words to 'Pretty Woman'? I think it's probably one of the best all round soundtracks I've ever heard in film terms and considering I've watched literally thousands I'd say that's a real compliment to the producers of this CD.
Buy it if you're a real music lover and you'll be guaranteed to find something you like! ...
