...Bob Marley was one of the all time inspirational artists of all time. He had some great songs, which are just as good if not better today. His songs are symbols of the fight for freedom that he believed in, and he’ one of the few artists who gets involved in politics through his songs. He has some many great songs like ‘Is this Love’ ‘Jamming’ ‘Get Up Stand Up’ and ‘Redemption Song’ that it difficult to chose a best song. Some of the lyrics are sublime, ‘Redemption’s Song’ contains some excellent lyrics. Songs like ‘Get Up Stand Up’ are very upbeat and uplifting, even inspiring. Bob Marley put Reggae music on the map, his songs were embraced in almost every country, his death was sad and tragic, cut short when he was at his prime. But, his music... Read review

Mix 2 builds on the success of early 2004's MIx 1, it features songs from Interpol, The Killers, Beulah, Death Cab For Cutie and Super Furry Animals, it also boasts three exclusive tracks-Jem's cover of Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" and Nada Surf's cover of OMD's "If You Leave," both recoreded specifically for the series, plus The Walkman's live "LIttle House of Savages." i cant think of anything else to say except buy this cd for an allround improvment on your collection wether your a fan of the show or not.... Advantages: An updated blast from the past
Disadvantages: Not everyones favorite Beatles tracks were covered

...? Well after listening, yes, yes they can. By doing this, not only have the artists paid homage to their heroes but they have created an updated selection of musical history. The feel of the album changes throughout, with 'Hey Jude' being a prime example. Starting with vocals and guitar in quiet harmony, slowly building up to an amazing finale, everything just sounds right. These artists were meant to cover these songs. Another great point of this album is how enjoyable it was to listen to, be it loud or quiet as background music this CD can be enjoyed again and again. In short if you are a fan of The Beatles, the metal/rock genre as a whole, or just wanting to expand your musical tastes by trying something new. I recommend this album, great buy, amazing tracks from beginning till end, and one hell of a tribute.... Read review
