Advantages: different styles
Disadvantages: Overpowered by funk

...Combat rock is the clash's final album, featuring Mick Jones. This is the sort of album that you have to listen to a few times to get into, well I did anyway. After the widely slated Sandinista, The Clash went back to the drawing board and produced their best selling album, although not their best. The Standout tracks are Ghetto defendant, featurin Alan Ginsburg, its a sort of rock/reggae track and is one of the best tracks the clash ever did, Rock the Caspar is a similar sort of song, all about rcok music being baned in some area's of the middle east. The most famous track on the album is Should I stay or should I go, made famous in a levi's advert in the early nineties. Combat rock is one of those albums that do not fit easily into any genre. In my opinion the only weak link is the god awful overpowered by funk, clearly a filler... Read review
