Advantages: More diverse than first effort, very accessable. Disadvantages: Tails of a little at the end.
...I've been reading some strange stuff about Kings Of Leon recently. After all the hype, rave reviews and plaudits heaped upon them since the summer of 2003, it seems that certain publications are calling them bland, 'samey' and other such tags. Considering most of the media hailed them as "one of the most exciting rock and roll bands in a generation" and the debut album 'Youth and Young Manhood' as "perhaps one of the greatest debut albums from an American band", these seems like quite a paradox.
Well, they can stop doing reviews for crap mags and gutter press now, as this follow-up album not only doesn't disappoint but is simply stunning.
I had reserved judgement after the slow burning single 'The Bucket' failed to truly ignite my hopes, but some of tracks on this are devastatingly rocking.

Advantages: Meant Converge toured the UK again Disadvantages: Commercial success may be the beginning of the end

JAcob Bannon is an artis in its true sense, both lyrically and graphically which is obvious in the crazily dark imagery of the album art and also on the site (www.convergecult.com).
Musically this album seems to ahave regressed from its predesessor 'Jane Doe' but ios also a progression like some kind of crazy paradox. I've always wanted to put the word 'paradox' into a sentence makes me feel like a phicisist/english scholar.
Musically the members have also brought in more original material and continue to push themselves. sweet baby jesus the drumming is outstanding and very predominant in the mix....

Advantages: A winding epic masterpiece Disadvantages: Some may find it a little obscure and inaccessible

Their previous three ablums, although selling well, never really held any mainstream appeal. From the outside, things seemed bleak for their hardcore base of loyal fans.
However, in 2000, it was announced that Sony (who had held a large stake in Creation) would be taking the band on via their subsidiary, Epic. This was tremendous news, as it meant that the band could focus on their music and the budget for their next album would be significantly larger than anything they had done before. Big production beckoned...
We were not disappointed. In 2001, "Rings Around The World" was released simultaneously on CD and DVD - a world's first, and what an album it was...
The higher quality of production hits...
