Progressive Goa Trance Vol.5 - Various Artists

Advantages: Varied popular songs plus some obscure ones
Disadvantages: The obscure songs are probably not to everyones taste

...This is the second CD I have brought from this series, I find these CD's a general overview of the years music relating to well known tracks to some that are unknown to me. This therefore make is a very good album to listen to as you know what you are getting from some of the songs. artists like Sterophonics, Muse, Athlete, The Libertines and so on are well known and will appeal to the majority. There are however some more obscure songs bands like Client, Bees, which although are not to bad for my taste they may not appeal to everyone. On the whole I have found this to be a good album in my collection and one that I will listen to if I can not make up my mind. If you like the main popular songs on this album then I would recommend to have this in your collection.... Read review

Advantages: Pure Tiesto
Disadvantages: Disc 2 lets it down a bit

...Just what you'd expect from the God of Trance in his In Search of Sunrise series. Brilliant music. Disc 1 far better than Disc 2 as usual, the club mix of Your Loving Arms (Karen Overton) is what makes the album complete, I would have that song on repeat but fear I may go mad. Top quality mixing from Tiesto as usual and brilliant choice of songs, just a shame about disc 2 as I tend to drift off or get distracted easily instead of listening. All good though. Tiesto did a Search of Sunrise tour when this was released and I managed to get to listen to it online. It makes you appreciate the album alot more if you get the chance to do that so before you buy this, download the set he did for it online.... Read review

Advantages: Great new styles, not afraid of trying new trance techniques, good lengthed songs
Disadvantages: Not many well known songs remixed, lyrics are always the chorus of the song repeated

...This album shows just how much Armin is capable of. A State of Trance 2007 features 28 long trance tracks, ranging from 2 minutes to 8 minutes (Most around 6) that flow into eachother. Armin has used various techniques that other trance music creators have not tried yet, such as bit-crunching, and has achieved the desired effect. I have really enjoyed this album, and have listened to it for 3 months now, without being bored of it. One of my favourite aspects of this album is the use of drums, he has used different samples to make his music provide the 'rushing' feeling to it's listener that most trance artists cannot achieve. This album is well worth it's price, as it has over 1 and a half hours of tracks inside, that you will not get bored of. There are a few original songs by Armin in this CD, but most are tracks from other people... Read review
