protest the hero is a canadian band from whitby, ontario. what's they're music style? it can't be expressed in just a single term. protest the hero is a progressive metal, metalcore, and mathcore (say what?) band. for those who haven't heard the term 'mathcore' before, mathcore music is that which uses unusual time signatures. if you're someone who doesn't have any music theory knowledge, you probably still have no idea what i'm talking about. instead of me having to give you a lesson music theory, its best that you check out one of their songs. you'll understand after listening to a single song. but anyways, protest the hero now as two albums out on shelves. their first album, kezia, is definitely something you need to look into. the amount of emotion protest the hero put into this album is unbelievable. every single note in every song ...

The 'Masters' of 'Puppets'

Advantages: Flawless Heavy Metal record, technically stunning time signature shifts with occasional classical structuring
Disadvantages: 20 year old production job, could do with a re-mastering

Time for my ultimate review of what I feel is the finest metal record of all time, 'Master of Puppets' by the masters themselves, 'Metallica'. Myself, a fan of Heavy Metal entirely because of the music from these guys. It was the 'Black' album that started it all for me in the early 90's upon hearing 'Enter Sandman' on the radio; I was pulled out of my stupid Pop childhood, and taken away into a darker musical place I liked very much. I immediately purchased a copy of the 'Black' album and upon hearing this I read more into the band learning of their thrash roots and much more diverse heavier past. So I sought after their older material beginning with 'Master of Puppet's'. Which brings me to today, where I have quite a collection of 'Metallica's' music having trawled CD fairs for the rarities and odds and sods to build that collection ...

TR Anniversary

Tomb Raider Anniversary... ... The first Tomb Raider released 11 nearing 12 years ago. The first game had us all addicted. We enjoyed the scenes, we enjoyed that we could all have our roles, we enjoyed the Music... Ah the music! Step out, the camera angle changes, and a burst of tinkly gorgeous music that makes you feel enchanted... absolutely BREATHTAKING... Anniversary. Again, a gorgeous game. They can hardly say they were celebrating 10 years: I mean, they actually, accidentally, released it on the 11th year! Bless. You have to compare it to the original Tomb Raider. The first Tomb Raider had everything, this Tomb Raider (TR: Anniversary) has most things. It gives you the camera angles, it gives you 'some' music, occasionally very simular - but the graphics are no longer 'square'. I don't know how many more polygons ...
