Review of Cleansing - Prong by GBYBrick

Advantages: Prong's most popular album -the same massive tone but cleaned up significantly
Disadvantages: None, its pure gold!

...An Awesome album, and a great introduction to Prong if youve never heard of them. This marked the turning point in Prong's sound, as they cleaned up their tone (hence the album name) and essentially made their music more accessible to a wider audience. With classics such as "snap your fingers, snap your neck" and "who's fist is it anyway?" Prong show that they were capable of writing pure chunky ass metal songs which contrast well with the mellower styles of tracks such as "one out numbered" and ""not of this earth". Overall, it is this mix of styles that got me into Cleansing, and Prong, as i was amazed at the range of "feeling" they coul inject into their music. An awesome CD, by a hugley influencial (if under rated) band.... Read review

Three and a half decades of great music
Review of Capital Gold Legends Vol.1 - Various Artists by emmorticia

Advantages: The word Legends says it all
Disadvantages: None

...: 1359 and 1305AM Sky Digital: Channel 863 Online: www.capitalgold.com The album (the first of a series of three) is a pick of some of the best-loved of the tracks regularly played on the station. The cover of the album features Blondie, Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner, which gives a taste of some of the styles of music featured. This is a double CD, made up of 42 songs altogether, and is currently retailing at Ł14.99 on Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk). The thing I liked most about this album is the fact that every track on it is a good one. There are so many times when I have bought compilation albums purely for 2 or 3 songs which are featured, and find that the rest of the tracks are complete rubbish. With this album, you can't go wrong! Each song is a timeless classic, you may not recognise them by the title, but play them and you'll know them... Read review
